Retirement

Postby DennieFR1908 » Sun, 12 Aug 2012 16:15

Been kicked out of my main tournament this period the Olympics for no reason whatsoever. We couldn't agree a date and I asked for a day extantion for us, as a reward my opponent is handed over the wo. If this is how it goes on the site i've no need to keep playing. The fact some people might have a busy period is isn't even allowed? I'll (perhaps) finish my tournaments and will than retire from the tour, I had it for now. Perhaps untill later. What a b*llshit. Thanks Morgan.

Oh and it's not like all hosts are like this. I never had this issue before.. But this is a give away WO to my opponent for no reason whatsoever. Unacceptable if this decision remains I won't have the need to continue.

YEs I do have a good competitive spirit. I put in alot of effort to, although this week I'm very busy, still try to arrange and play all my matches. And the fact someone give a lame WO like this, without clear reason, unacceptable.

Unacceptable? No reason whatsoever?

You didn't respond to your opponent until the day of the deadline (he tried to contact you for two days prior, and your first response was 6 hours before the deadline), and you said you could not play until the day after the deadline. No need to lash out at Cro Morgan - you were the one who didn't have time to play, and any host would have made same decision.

And your post is a bit misleading - you say you "couldn't agree on a time"? You never gave your opponent any times. You only said that you were busy and could "perhaps" play after dinner.

If you wish to complain about this further, do so in a PM - not here on the forum.

You asked for a rule obligating your opponent to respond at least 2 days before the deadline. That's not a very practical rule. Unfortunately, it's not very practical (or even possible) to have specific rules for all cases.

As far as this particular case goes, there is a very specific rule:

9.) Please do not register for a tournament if you aren't available for play during a specific round.

I was playing 5 tournaments at the same time at that time. His first pm was useless for me, he could play every day untill 19.00, I could play every day from 19.00. Because of that I was busy I also forgot that message eventually. As for his second, I responded the next day because I had no time for that day so I had no usefull information for him at the time.. The day after that I messaged him but he didn't respond.

And I don't think every host would give him the wo. I've been in simular situations alot more often, and always they are willing to give a day extention. I see so much tournaments who are behind on the deadline.. what is the trouble to wait with this one for 1 more day? :?

Only thing I ask for is perhaps a deadline for tomorrow, if he is not available today, out of respect for me, I never have wo's and always put alot of trouble in planning my matches. I almost survived this week where I actually had no time to play but the last day this sh*t shows up, I'm just very dissapointed in it. Hoped for a little more understanding. I didn't ask for much, only a deadline to max monday, after that I have alot more time so I can play the next round much quicker after that.... I shouldn't "lash out" on cro morgen but I was angry at the time, I hope he changes his mind, shows some understanding and can give us another day.

All that I quoted just shows that it was not anyone's fault but your own. You should have at least responded to your opponent - even if it was to say that you didn't know yet when you could play. Also, if you knew you were busy and that you might need an extension, you should have said something sooner. Then, maybe, you could say that Cro was being a hard-ass about the deadline. However, even if you had, I still doubt anyone would have given you an extension for an early round match. A semifinal or final? Yeah, probably so. But not for a round of 16 match, where it's likely to delay the entire tournament.

What do you want sh0Case? The host was like 10 days past deadline in the first round match between Jai and straightcash, so it's actually a very good example that the hosts dont act consistant. I have a deadline for this match for today.

Well I can promise him now the delay won't happen. I'll be having alot more time from tomorrow so I can make sure the round after will be played soon after.
