I do not think that you guys watched a singe match of Tennis before you made this game. It is sooo unrealistic it is unreal. It is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to have TWO wings at 90 irl. It is impossible t have 40 speed and chase down balls like Djoker and Nadal combined. And lastly, it is absolute IMPOSSIBLE for someone to hit angles like that so consistently! I mean, really? Have you guys watched a Tennis match?!?! Is it ever possible to have 25 winners to each error? For ANY match to consistently consist of sharp angles being hit again and again?! And how many times does anyone get wrongfooted in a match? Because in this game that happens again and again! You can not even move to cover a side or else, wrongfoot, and it is the same with 40 or 90 speed!

The wrongfooting is indeed very annoying.

I can see why they'd want fewer errors than in real life - would get annoying for the average gamer to be hitting errors often - but they should ofc introduce a few more still..

I think they should have just kept the risk system, eliminated control shots and made normal shots less effective and it would have been way better. I played TS3 the other night and MAN was it hard to try and adjust!

If everything in this game was possible like in real life then why would it be called a video game????????????

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

I am back with my DMT :-) It's closer to real tennis then any of the TS games yet.
Not sure why it's so hard to reproduce something so "simple" on an ugly looking game like DMT on big console games.

Although DMT is a video game it is really way more tennis like.

I agree, and therefore TS3 wins 3 to 0. Best (not perfect!) tennis sim ever on a console.

tennis

Postby seppderooij » Sun, 13 Nov 2011 16:47

Hello guys, I play tennis at the highest level in my country and i know that some things are unreal like the difference between a speed of 40 and 90. The serve set up with power of 100 and serve 98 and forehand and backhand of 60 is not real because you can play forehands and backhands as well as people with forehand and backhand of 78. But guys this is the most realistic tennis game ever! I play it like real tennis and i play it well. I play other tennis games like i play in real tennis and then i lose every single point. The power shot with RT at topspin 2 is so unrealistic and some guys want it back because it´s realistic :??

I agree, the risk shot is not realistic, I play tennis in real life as well..

In fact, the entire TS 3 version was very lame, it was no fun at all all the shots seemed to go the same...

And this TS4 is indeed by far the most realistic tennis game, if only they would let timing have more influence, so bad timing means the ball goes out, you will also get realistic Winners/Unforced errors stats, than people will probably suddenly say the game is realistic.

OK, I'm not going to get into a 'which game is better' argument, but I will point out that this statement makes no sense:

Risk shot is not realistic, I play tennis in real life as well.

:?

and without the bias, this describes ts4, not ts3:

the entire TS 3 version was very lame, it was no fun at all all the shots seemed to go the same

Lol your response makes no sense what so ever, I just say I play tennis myself, and risk shot is not involved in that, it's about timing, just like in this game, just don't want to explain myself on that part...

And yes, on ts 3, i knew where the balls where landing at the moment they where leaving my raquet... could never play more than 1 match after that I got bored, I am very happy with TS 4 couldn't expect it would improve so greatly in comparisment with TS 3.

Spot on. My thoughts.

I am sorry, but I cannot take anyone seriously that says risk shots are not realistic.

Dennie, you never miss? ...I am sure if we played in real life, I can make the game look like TS3 for you  I maybe over 30, but I can spank some young ass - no problem.

Timing is just one part of tennis. Very important one, but one. Once you start timing your shots a bit better, your decision making goes to work. That's when you weight your options and either risk more or risk less.
