Seriously I could probably put in Blaster Master right now and play it straight through without a freeze.

Growing up, my friends on my block and I would play Contra, Double Dragon and Master Blaster all day for a few summers. Those were the days, trying to beat Contra, one of the hardest games ever, with the logic of an 8 year-old and no knowledge of the Konami code

Thanks for making me feel old, bastard

Dude no need to feel old Contra is amazing. I got my NES when I was 5 in the hospital having my tonsils removed and I was hooked instantly. All those games you mentioned I loved all the Megamans, the Castlevanias (even Simon's Quest)! A lot of those games may look like crap compared to today's games but a lot of them had the imagination behind them that today's games really lack.

just the fact that I still play a lot of those games says a lot. I have a Genesis and SNES (among others) hooked up to my fancy-ass HDTV as we speak, just played a 60 minute game of Madden 94 last night

I got my NES for Xmas when I was...yep, 5

I had a TMNT game on the nes an I loved it. Paperboy and duck hunt. What made duck hunt so good was the gun. Pretend it was real running aroubd the house shooting evry1.
But my memory is mashed up now, I had castlevania but can't remember any of it. (Too much partying with my avatar will do that to a brain though) I LOVE NES!!!!

I loved Duck Hunt. I think everyone I knew would always shoot at the dog when he laughed at you. I had this thing through Genesis and my cable company at the time (Suburban) which was called "Sega Channel." Basically every month they would upload like 50 different Genesis games you could stream to your system and they worked great! This was right around the time I got my Playstation and I distinctly remembering playing Sega Channel more than I'd play my PSX.

Gotta admit I never was into RPG's when SNES and Genesis were in their prime. That only started in high school.

C4ill: I've played Super Tennis before...we actually had a thread about that game maybe 1 or 2 years ago  I have it on a SNES emulator not my actual SNES, but it's a really fun game actually.

Does ANYBODY else remember Pete Sampras tennis on Genesis?? That game was awesome/terrible.

Same company (Codemasters) that did the "Micro Machine" game for Genesis and SNES. BTW if you've never played 'Micro Machines' before, don't let the name fool you, it's seriously one of the most fun racing games of all time :)

I think those 16 bit RPG's are honestly the best ones ever made. Chrono Trigger, FF6, Earthbound, Lufia, Secret of Mana I mean the list just goes on and on and really check em out on your emulator because they are the SHIT!

EDIT: I need to add the Phantasy Star and Shining Force series to this list for Genesis.

I don't know if I've played Super Tennis but I do have Pete Sampras tennis as well as a bunch of others on my emulators. There's an ATP game on Genesis that I always liked that had a bunch of pros and legends in it you could choose from and you could actually play the tour. It was a lot of fun and you could create your own player too.
