SIM FH Power slices.

Postby LokiSharpShootr » Sat, 29 Oct 2011 22:31

Hey i got a quick question to host/management, plz if your not part of the management dont bother to comment.

I played a SIM match and during the course of 3 sets i used FH power slices 3 times, is that considered cheesy? if that is then i would gladly give my opponent a replay or a win over me.

If my opponent feels there´s anything else to add on the macth please do so.

I dont need to be more hated than im already am here.

Or when you are standing still with plenty of time to pick the right shot, yet you still choose to use FH slice.

It is rather clear to most of us when the slice was cause by accident and when someone deliberately "milking" the shot to generate points. If this is not clear for someone during the match - then SIM may not be foe them

Of course SV guys can actually use it to attack the net.

Firstly i just want to say that i never use a slice shot, but im sorry i really dont understand the amound of things that are banned and considered "cheesy" on here. Personally i only object to players who take advantage of errors in the game e.g the return of serve which makes you go all the way off the court to return. Although i find constant drop shots etc frustrating if you have a big powerful player and therefore lack speed surely that should be allowed to be exploited, personally those players who use a repeat tactic that could be considered "cheesy" it just makes me want to beat them even more. On the slice note though If you have ever seen someone like Fabrice Santoro play you will have seen that most of his forehand shots are sliced. Just because people dont like it and it can be effective at times doesnt mean it should be banned, atleast in my opinion but i dont make the rules.

I have only been a member a few months but from what i can gather the only way to play and not be considered cheesy is to serve hard all the time and then hit big powerful groundstrokes. Yet we complain when the game is being overun with power players who have 98-100 in power stats. Personally i feel sorry for the all-rounder, who likes to mix up their serves in terms of power and spins and likes to slice , aswell as go for the big shots in order to break up an opponents rhythem. But it seems that anything that will annoy the other player e.g changing speed and spin of shot is considered "cheesy".

I know you cant please everyone and maybe im just hard to please but thats just my 2 cents.

first, fh power slice is only banned in SIM.

and it's not banned to please power players, because it s in the hands of an high power player that the power slice becomes a big unrealistic weapon that will bring a weak ball to put away.

you can mix and surprise with control fh slice / backhand power slice

about serve, you can mix serve speed using both stick and button serve with different spin. the zps which means serves slower than 130 km/h afaik is just a flaw in the game that generates aces when it should be an easy ball to attack.

Doesn't sound all to cheesy to me even being pretty anti power slice. HOWEVER I did get a bit of a kick out of the irony of this post pertaining to a reply on a thread I created a few weeks back. This quote is from October 14, 2011:

LokiSharpShootr wrote:Actually you´re wrong, look i dont do it but the rule says that you can do power slices and chargin slices and drag slices as long as it isnt on your FH.

The rule says no FH power slice, backhand is fine.

Again i dont do it.

1 FH power is cheest. Why is this not worse than TS. TS is cheesy an eaay to counter but a FH power slice is a point changing move. If you use it 1nce you are a cheesy , C**T.

None. I was simply remarking that a brilliant 18 year old and top player such as yourself who CLEARLY knew the rules two weeks ago ought to know them now. Or did that slip your mind in one of the "mood swings?"

Also I'm very proud of you for beating someone who has only had this game a few months. Good job. You are clearly amazing and I have no idea why no one likes you.

What???? i wasnt being cocky or an assholle this time, i was asking you how many i did to show to you that i dont do it, i only did in my match because i have the bad habit of pre-pressing in the second ball and by the end of the 3rd i was getting tired of my oponnent returning my servers with slice on my backhand, then i started throwing some slices back at him on the 2nd ball.

I only came here to ask this question so there would be no problems with my opponent that is a great player and of the few people i respect on this website.

What is the problem with some of ITST member? it seems they are in a vendetta against me for trolling in the forums, like my oponnent from tonight accusing me of forcing lagg in the 2nd set against him. like i would need lagg to win against anyone in here.

Why would i care if any of you like me? are you my friends? are you my family? are you my girlfriend? are you my boss? are you my teacher? then if you´re not stick whatever opinion you have about me in your *******.

Hey mods if you want to suspend me go for it. Let someone other than me, Khult or Sh0case win something in here.

It was 3 times in 2 game points in the 3rd set, at 2-2. But loki, it doesnt matter, you're the better/smarter player, so you won, you were going to win anyway right!

Loki did serve then FH powerslice 3 times, but it was due to him not being able to hit a good shot off of my return of serve as it was a deep slice, so its not a big issue, loki is a cool dude anyways
