One question from ITST hosts/moderators

Postby farshad » Mon, 12 Sep 2011 20:02

Hello to all of you,
I could ask this in a private message but i saw some other people having doubts or they are not sure what to expect about cheater or cheeser, so i decided to ask this in public.
.....
If a player uses a cheesy tactic like usuing DS all the time or slow serves or power slices..or any obvious cheesy stuff that we all know, obviously the opponent will report but the host will need more complaints or proof.
now the question is if we record the match for the host, would he cancel the match and give the victim a WO? would it be enough ?
how does it work exactly?
i mean if one video would do the trick, so why people aren't recording these cheaters ?
just make your camera ready and record every match you play on ITST. im sure this will stop the cheesy tactics.

YES.

If we have a video proof, there is no reason to collect complaints. We will analyze it and make a decision based on what is in the video.

A complaint system is there to track tendencies... since we don't have proof and many times its ones players word vs the other.

I´m still waiting an easycap from a friend that offered me for a very low price. The problem is that I was not able to meet him in the last 2 weeks. As soon as I get it, I´ll record all my matches.

Okay then , i personally feel much better now cause i usually get nervous before playing an unkown opponent, "what if the guy is a cheater?" the problem is not losing, its losing to a guy who have less skills or equal but win by cheesy tactics.
Thanks for clearing this up for us man. :tu
lets hope most of ITST players use camera so its easier for everyone to spot the cheesers and kick them out of this place.
...........
ZOOLOO, that obviously is great idea but i doubt anyone here wants you to improve  joking! yeah the idea is great, if we record the matches. why not upload them ?!
..............
Tamthewasp, no i didnt record the match, i need to buy a big memory for it first.

can you please keep us updated on the EasyCap, looked at this for quite some time last night and was more confused as normal. Many vids on YouTube, but with different set-ups.

e.g. using splitters, from PS3 - splitter - tv splitter - EasyCap - splitter.
3 sets of RC/AV Componnent Cables (Yippers)

Could not find anything about if your using a HDMI cable from PS3 to TV and still able to record using EasyCap or if it records standard/analogue definition only?

Set-Up's without splitters, but im sure this would mean playing and watching only on PC Monitor?

All these settings were same for the Dazzle Recorder aswell.
got a digital camera but only records video, no sound, no fun when you dont hear the "Thwack" of the ball tho is it..!
