My first topic : Retirement.

Postby SBR Ironik » Mon, 22 Aug 2011 23:36

Hi all.

I'm so pissed right now...

I first loved this game... Then I played WT and met a lot of selfish players only thinking about victory and crushing the opponent.

I first loved ITST. It was so refreshing, intense, friendly... Then I played same players I played in WT ... And now... I'm just fed up.

The main goal of a game is to have a good time. Sometimes it could be stressful ... But a good stress...

Lately I haven't had any pleasure... to the contrary, I'm more stressed than in my work. I'm agressive, pissed, restive...

So I think it's time to give up.

I know the hard work done by the staff and I thank them again.
But I know they can't do anything against the human nature.

Swallow it or spit. I'm spitting that away from my life :)

Thanks to every fairplay and friendly players I met. They'll recognize themselves

I'll probably give a try at the sim tour by the way

See you guys and thanks for everything :)

You are like the 3rd person in the last couple of days to say they are quitting, which is again a shame :( . As I said, when I stopped, the game has its flaws, but the biggest issue is probably some of the people playing it!

See you back here when SIM Tour arrives.
I used to think I was indecisive... but now I'm not so sure.

When a game makes you more stressed than you are in work, I think you're right, it's a good decision to stop...

Anyway I think that TS4 could be very stressfull, maybe more than the real tennis. Maybe because we're just sat... During a tennis game, we run etc, and we don't think as much as in front of a screen.

That is true.

With real tennis there's the enjoyment of being outside, distractions on other courts, all that running, etc

i tried to come back couple of times to play itst, but i started to forget my schedule with opponent, because im not motivated :D and dont have time to practice too

its much better to play the game for fun in world tour, just when i feel like playing it. and im not afraid of cheesers in top spin 4, i can counter them ;))

Actually this is not the game in itself that makes me angry/stressed but those
players who keep using flaws and "cheesy" tactics. I agree with DarkTunde on that ;)

I'm ok with loosing against a better fairplay player and when it happens (and it happens often) I just say him good game and I go back practicing more.

Anyway it will be hard for me not to play again but I've promised myself not to ^^

See you guys when the game is fixed or when the sim tour is up :)

Yeah, in WT I can counter most of them but I came here expecting to play against good and fairplay players.
The "good" expectation part is met but... not the fairplay part (lately)

When a good player uses flaws or cheesy tactics it becomes too painfull for me, an average player ;)

Don't know... I was playing a tournament game (in real tennis, amateur level) and my opponent was really good... In first set he was playing like Federer, always hitting winners from everywhere. A sort of Top Spin 4

Believe me... I was stressed :) But I didn't give up and I continued to play like always... At the end it was a beautiful match that i lost in 3rd set...

Anyway real tennis is always better

Look, you dont have to play at all the World tour if you want. You have lots and lots of people in here (me included) that would be happy to hit some balls with you (tennis balls guys come on...)

Now, you will find cheesers everywhere, incluidng here, the cheese is strong, but not strong enough in here as in the World Tour.

Just saying this because you like the game, care for it, because if you didnt like it you wouldnt be pissed or wouldnt be writing here how pissed u are 8)

Hehe that's true.
i love ITST and its community.
To be fair, without ITST i would have given up this game quickly.
I love competition and the community part... but right now i'm just fed up. I need a break I think and I'm looking forward playing the sim tour :)

insults are not allowed here, not even in french.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
