What View?

Postby RainingAmoeba79 » Tue, 09 Aug 2011 14:55

Since the beginning of the game, I always used the normal TV view. This time I tried another view, called Zoom Far. I like it a lot! It still lets me see the whole court, but it feels like I am playing real tennis, which is fun, and lets me time my shots better. Additionally, you can see the spin of TS, the lowness of slice, and the straight path of a flat shot.

I have also started using the d pad to aim my shots. It lets me be sure that the shot will go deep CC, not accidentally deep middle.

So, I wanted to ask what view do most ppl on ITST use, and do you use the stick or the control pad?

Can I ask you guys a serious question? Does the scoreboard interfere with your ability to see your opponent and his shot when he is on that side? It's been bothering me since I got the game but no one seems to complain of the issue. I'm not sure if it's the view I use (which I believe is standard) or because I have an older TV... let me know.

The answer for me is : absolutely not :) I play on a 24" monitor that use both for my PC and PS3.

The answer for the poll is : i use TV and analog stick... i've tried the far camera but maybe cause i'm used to the "default" one, sometimes i don't feel to "read" the next shot of my opponent, even if i feel more accurate in some occasion...

According to me it depends on what you watch to "read" the opponent. If you watch only the ball maybe is bettere the far one. If you look both to the ball and the opponent character maybe the TV is better cause you can watch in a better view the animation of the character.

This is my opinion :)

PS: I have to try PAD, but i feel so well with analog that i don't need to try.

I tried the Zoom Far angle and it was pretty neat. I found I just wasn't nearly as good using it. My biggest problems came with reading depth on shallow balls.

Ya, it took me a two days to get used to, but if you keep trying it will work!

Bud, if you kicked my .... Playing in an old tv, cant imagine with a new one...

Now regarding the topic, i play with the standard view and joystick.

Have played with the far view when i play with a friends in the same console, the far view is neat but affects how you see the depth of the shots. Also anotherthingi have found very tough is to adapt playing in the upper side of the screen while playing vs on the same console, because the timing goes off big time.

Have also seen before some people saying that playing with the dpad gives your shots more depth and accuracy... Would like to try it but problem isthe dpad on the xbox is so rough to the fingers, that after an hour i will have to play with my thumb wrapped around with band aids.... Just like some real life tennis players... It cant get more sim than that.... Maybe it should be a requisite for a sim tour

It is a bit rough, but the quality of shot is improved noticably.

I don't doubt that it seems logical but I feel like it hinders my movement a bit.

What bothers me sometimes is when a friend enters on-line. I play in PS3, and when this happen a small window appears in the right corner. If the player is there at the same time, it can really mess up the point.

BTW, I play the TV view and joystick...
