Serve issues

Postby venom400 » Mon, 13 Jun 2011 12:41

Hi all and I apologize for bad spelling/ grammar in advance because I am typing this on my I phone on the metro rail

So I was playing with roddick on the 2k tour and I was noticing hoe unnefective having big serve is un this game , i was serving at 140 mph and everything was bring returned to me as easy as pressing a button , the only time it felt like the serve was dping anything was when I serve and volley , no unforced errors , no aces , not even a good high short ball , in RL if you try to slice a 140 mph service it is going to go flying so far with all that energy generated slice that you will never get anything in , but yet a fast serve usually works against you as the pace gets bounced right back at you with slice or TS .

Am I doing something wrong ? Because right now serving is just a way to start the point and not really a weapon of any kind , well unless you cheese and serve from the trim lines

Any tips ? I am serving with the sticks

Mix up the pace, and mix stick serves with button serves.

Are buttons serve just less powerful? I didn't even think of using them to mix up serve paces.. Always go for the stick serve.

Just made a game in WT : 12 aces in 2 sets (4-2 ; 4-3 for me at the end).

The serve is better with the update i think, you just need the good stats at the good place...

Same for me I rarely hit lines, never twice in a row, and if I do it's called out even if the chalk flew up in the air, lol. The only aces I get are from changing pace and direction in which the returner studders in the wrong direction, hardly ever from pure placement. I personally think there should be more return errors. They're practically non existant, if it does occure it's a shank off the returners' racket that never makes it to midcourt, it would be nice to see some returns go long or wide...wink wink.
