Should serves be tweaked?

Postby Capriatifan » Fri, 18 Mar 2011 15:46

As it seems, it's pretty easy to get your player excellent serve stats and ace 90% of your serves on 1st and second serves, which is completely unrealistic ofcourse and kills cool rallies. 2K should have no problem tweaking this a bit (pretty common in sports games, look at NBA2K etc where sometimes scoring is too easy or too hard and this gets tweaked) if enough people agree. Margin for error (timing, placement) should definitely be smaller on the second serve too, cause now 1st and 2nd serve are exactly the same. Should the serve be made a bit less dominant?

He yo are you dumb? I told you already everything you need to know.

I played four times against humans with this Guy and once two Matches against a good Guy. It wasn't so easy against him like against the CPU in Point of Serve.

But to be honest, I made 15 to 20 Aces against these Guys in four Matches.
But it's the Result of that these Guys were surprised by this strong Serve.

The other Guy I played two Matches against has found out very soon after one Match how to handle my Servicegame so don't make Panic for nothing.

You didn't even play the Game. So what do you want?

Play enjoy and psst.

I voted no. But I don't think serving is fine. I don't use the stick for serving, I've never liked it. I can't get a serve in over 108 using the buttons and Nole as my player. I think there should be a power button for servers who use the buttons. I also think the stick serve should be faster because I consider it an advanced technique and one I have never mastered.

And you may not forget that this is a totally new Game and that the most Guys first have master the Game more and more.

This other Guy handled my Service very good after the first Match and made the first Brake in the first Game of the second Match.

Today is the offical european Release so what are you waiting for?

Buy it, try it and enojy.

OMG I don't want to brag around here but I mastered the Stickserve in TS4 after the first five Minutes I tried it in the Demo.

And you can do it easily too. Train, that's all. You need pratice in every Game and so in TS4.

You Guys have Problems. Jesus! ^^

Exactly my Friend.

BTW I still believe the words of Francois Giuntini. They tested the Game alot and these Guys from 2K are not dumb.

My extreme offensive Baseliner has clear weak Points because I made him extreme.

The first loss against a human is nearer then you may think. Especially the ITST Guys here, where at leat 80 % playing on my Level or better.

We will see the worth of our Characters during the ITST Season.

That's absolutely not the issue..it's just too easy to serve aces, it's not that I am jealous some people can ace and I can't, I don't know how online is, but against the CPU I hit aces all the time and I just think that's not very realistic. But if online is different then leave that pasrt untouched.

Everyone's opinion matters, but please base your assessments on matches versus a real player. Matches against AI will result in an entirely different experience.

If you voted "no", then you haven't played against my character yet

I only have around 80 in serve, but I routinely ace people on every single service point... It's winning me a ton of matches but I agree it needs to be toned down.

all u have to do is return it and your in great position to win the point...a guy with a ton on serve is either going to have a lot on power or volley as well, but his speed won't be good and he will be extremly easy to hold serve against

At first I was a little frustrated with the guys playing as Roddick always acing me...

...then I broke their serves...

It's possible to break but as in real tennis against a good server it's half about guessing and half about his timing. If you can get a racket on it you're in a great position to win the point.

Please do. I tend to agree with Nick, but want his opinion after the match.
