Lots of UI stuff was removed from the demo to make it fit a certain size. Could be that the tournament mode button was part of it to.

i doubt it. When they talked about presentation i guess there were elements for sound or presentation of the players and such. A menu button is not "heavy". The tournament code has been simply replaced by King of the Court mode. Let's hope it is fully customisable.

Hi guys, loving the demo, however a couple of questions for the in the know guys
1. Maybe it's just me but it seems you cannot hit the ball when it's going out of play, is a bit strange as you'll never have bad judgement on leaves, sure you could it ts3
2. Serena williams seems to be the best player on demo not just for serve but ground strokes aswell ?
3. Computer very rarely using lob when I'm at the net ?

All in all tho game is much improved from top spin 3 and really looking forward to rejoining the tour

1. That seems to be the case - I haven't been able to hit a ball that was going out, either. We'll have to wait for the full version to see if this is just to aid in the demo. I'm assuming that the full version will be the same, though.

2. She is definitely the most powerful. However, if you're using characters that can get good angles and can approach the net, you can really take advantage of her bad speed rating.

3. I get lobbed a ton! It might depend on how close you are to the net. Once you get lobbed you can try shots like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MONS60LynZA

You know what i think would be an amazing touch if they had Wimbledon? If when you first loaded the game before any modern stuff you were taken back to Warple Road, Wimbledon, on Thursday 18th July 1877, and played a mini game where to played as Spencer Gore and served for the match at the very first world tennis tournament. Would be a lot of hassle for a minigame, but would be nice to see and remember where it all started.

Just did today actually with a shot going wide, so it's definitely there just I haven't been able to do it again :(

Were you close to net because that only time it would allow me to hit if going wide. Only happened once tho.

Also any one else get 10x better timing with rafa.

I'm going to be called cheap in ts4 exhibitions for using rafa a lot now haha. Used him in ts3 heaps and won most matches except for when came up against great risk players or tramline serving roddicks and service line risk slicers lol. I think I jsut summed up 50% of players in exhi matches in ts3 tho haha.

I've played 3-4 tie breacks at Matheja's home and i can just say it looks very nice.
I'm sure we shouldn't be sure of anything since the final version will have big differences from the demo (as there always is in lots of games).
The demo is way too easy (how can we beat Rafa on hard at the first try!) As Ronnie said, it is on purpous and anyways, playing against a human with the final version will change everything.

As far as serve are concerned, i didn't manage to hit a powerfull serve yet but always hit great ones when S&V (always stick cause no power with buttons).

Regarding the volley btw, I'm sure we will have a lot more volley players than in all the other top spin series until now. It's alot easier to handle and the best way (for the moment at least) to finish a point (to me)

I never was a huge fan of risk but I hope the description the 2K manager made is true and the choice of the shots as well as their type will have a huge role because risk is part of tennis and i liked to fact that we had plenty of choices available for different situations otherwise, everyone will rush the net.

This is what I am fearing, especially if it is very difficult to make an unforced error now. People will get bored of extended VT-like rallies and will start net rushing. There is nothing wrong with S&V of course but it will be boring and unrealistic if everyone plays this way.
Anyway, can't judge fully until the game comes out but I have my reservations

did anyone play VT2? you HAD to serve and volley to have a chance of winning!

By the way im not looking forward to this at all. I'm only one of the better volley players as nobody does it.... if everyone does it i'll be exposed!
