Too many short balls. The court almost seems "shorter" then normal. Especially on the flat shots. ...

tenjin, I also noticed it.... this is going to be a bit late if they don't fix it. Its nothing that will completely kill the game, but at the same time it takes away from it a bit.

Playing with Nadal, I am 90% of the in-the-court, WHILE DEFENDING :?

It is a bit claustrophobic in there.

Maybe this will be one of the more sim-like aspects of the game; if you are able to keep the ball deep, you might have a huge advantage - one of the few things that has never changed in tennis.

Has anyone noticed any difference in the consistency of topspin vs flat shots? One thing that has always bugged me about TS games is that the flat shot was more or less the safe shot.

This time round its the shit shot. It goes out more, and from what I've seen, its less effective overall, though Federer hits it slightly better than the topspin shot...

Well, yeah.I really hope it is like you say, but, hitting on the rise is extremely easy and super effective this time around. In TS3 you really needed to have a skill to hit on the rise.

It TS4 the short balls are the problem. They are more effective and easier to hit then long balls.

Flat shot was nerfed :) Right now, it is neither powerful nor deep, and it doesn't generate errors. In fact, it is the weakest shot (as far as effectiveness).

My hope was like yours, that this is the shot that will make the errors...

At this point, Top Spin 4 lives up to the name - top spin shots are the more consistent ones, more powerful, more precise and go close to the line.

Hello guys! Newbie here, just to share some impressions... 8)

+ Beautiful animations and much more dynamic gameplay compared to TS3.
+ Encourages more variation shot selection wise. Power was to sentral in TS3, and hopefully that won`t be the case in TS4.

-A few balls landing too short. Not a big issue, but some adjustment for the releasebuild would be nice
-Can`t hit unforced errors. Got 3 unforced errors from Nadal though when playing him in the US Open as Federer. Needs adjustment and more punishment for timing and positioning.
-AI is impossible (?) to wrongfoot. They seem to be staying in their backhandcorner a little bit too long.

Overall I pretty sure that TS4 will be head and shoulders above TS3 both gameplay- and careermodewise. The AI is definetly better than what we saw in TS3 (which was bascially roadkill, unless you adjusted the cameraview to a closer angle too make timing slightly more difficult).

PS: Didn`t know that a forum this dedicated too Top Spin excisted, happy to have randomly found you guys :D

Welcome to the site, MJordan. The biggest complaint I have is also about the lack of unforced. I'm hoping, though, that when they increase the CPU difficulty of the final build they will also increase the chance of the ball going out when you hit it "too early" or "too late".

i see the tallest player u can create is 6'4 and considering the average male tennis players height is 6'3 means we cant proply create alot of the missing players from the game and why?? is it right that in the career mode they pick your stats for you aswell, wtf?

Thanks :P

That 2k fellow who wrote here did say that the demo was a bit dumbed down, didn`t he. So I think the game will come out just fine, if not then hopefully a patch can fix whatever issues there might be. Anyway, I`m stoked for the game to come, we tennisfans aren`t exactly spoiled with great games...

Honestly I think when 2 humans play against each other and nerves come into play, as well as the more varied shots/strategies that humans use as opposed to CPUs, we are going to see a normal amount of UE's.

The CPU AI is totally irrelevant to me as I'm sure it basically is to you...all the good players will eventually completely rape the CPU 100% of the time no matter how hard they make it.

Until the demo was released I could play and enjoy TS3 every day. Yesterday I tried switching back to TS3 and I really did not like the feeling. TS4 is so much better in every single way! I can honestly say that I will never play TS3 again.

Two things I noticed: No tournament game mode like in TS3. Maybe its because the demo is an early build? I hope its there in the final version and that it allows us to use our created pros as opponents.

The second thing I noticed is that the single net posts are still missing?! It can't be that hard for them to put them in there since alot of other courts in the game has them. It was the same in TS3 and I can't understand why such a simple detail is missing.
Ignorance is bliss
