Anything better than TS3 dude, with the risk shots that were UNREALISTIC, and the animations were in my opinion worst than TS4's animations.

Risk + tennis = unrealistic  if that what you think, you will hate TS4.

A fair warning, while you may think the risk is gone, the truth is, the safe shots are the ones that are gone. Everything is risk now and every shot can go out.

Dude, in TS3 if you had mastered the risk shot you could literrally blast people off the court. If Zeriurs comment is correct, then that is cool, thats how its suppose to be, give your shot the right amount of power, time it well=a good shot that is hard to stop. There is a difference between the "risk shots" in TS3 and TS4. I never said risk was unrealistic but in TS3 how they portrait it was unrealistic, isnt risk suppose to cost you some errors? In TS3 some people could use risk shots and get them in every single time, is that realistic? Errors are supposed to be in tennis, if every ball can go out, then that is realistic, I'm sure I will like TS4 :)

Not sure i'm right
But that just what i hope will happen.. well risk button is gone in top spin 4.
or like djarvik say. every shot is risk now.

But now u cant really use a button that give u max power when u just click it and hold it in and then use a shot button, not even have to charge power up. U just needed to have the timing right.

Sure risk is part of tennis.. but did not like the way risk shot was in ts3.

but if they make it like this in ts4. That u charge up power and then the more power u charge up and got bad timing, The more chance it gonna be a error. Even a good stoke could go out, if u had low stamina bar in the point.
Guess we just gonna wait and see how it will turn out.

Cant wait :P

I thought it wasn't possible to master the Riskshop in TS3 in every Situation you want or am I wrong? I didn't understood the Risktiming in Top Spin 3 anyway but I played totaled up maybe only 4 Weeks because the Game hasn't enough excitement for me to play it really a long time. I just wasn't pleased with Top Spin 3 like some other Guys were.

But with Top Spin 4 the dices get new rolled and this Time I won't give up the Game to early. I played a Game like Top Spin 1 for 2 1/2 Years just to show I can endure it long with some Games. They just have please me.

Anything is possible. Some people were very good at preforming risk shots.

the top guys in TS3 mastered the risk shots... timing was key and they had it down to a science. Some guys would just risk everything and on top of that their court positioning was top tier as well. Although the risk shots aren't there in TS4, the guys that were on top of TS3 I feel will be favorites in TS4 simply because they mastered the basics. Timing, court positioning, etc.

I guess TS4 becomes to the hardest Compitition the Series ever saw. Now where the Riskshots are out of the Game almost everybody has the Chance to master the full Range of the Game and playing the Game on a high Level. Ofcourse some Guys will do it slightly better than others, but I reckon there will be more Keypoints in TS4 than just the Gameplay. But we'll see. I mean I hope it's really all about the Gameplay and I also hope for a Characterbalance the Series has never seen before but I am always a lil bit secptical until I play and test the Game.

This might hurt for some, but the people who hate risk shots have always (since TS1) been the people who completely suck at them and lack the god-given timing to ever pull it off. Soo....stfu.

If TS4 wasn't coming out so soon I'd practice my risk game until it'd be up to par with the higher ranked players... Idk if I'd become more of a fan of it, but I'd get better at it to be more successful in ITST.

Even if I was good at them, who the fck wants to see a tennis match with rallies of 1-3 shots?

I think the days of stacked players, regardless of the combination could be over.

Before I begin, i noticed that charging up shots for more power reduces your stamina as well. So you can't just blast away endlessly. Well you can, but you'll get tired more easily.

In the Agassi vs Murray match, you could tell that Murray was faster than Agassi. Funny thing is Murray's speed is 74, and Agassi's is 70. I thought the difference was really huge and was shocked to see just how close they really were. Then again Agassi was using a lot of powerful shots which decreased his stamina and slowed him down, but even when they were both fully recharged Murray still looked much faster. So all it took was 4 pts to make that much of a difference? What this tells me is that stats, even a small difference of 4, could potentially make a huge difference.

If you try and stack fh/bh/pw/sv then you'll be punished severly in speed and stamina. A defensive baseliner or counter-puncher could go to town with you. When they bring you in to the net they won't even have to make a passing shot, cause (assuming your character can even get to the net since he's so slow or has any stamina left) you'll miss the volley. They could probably hit the ball right back to you, knowing you'll miss anyway.

Creating a perfect Serve and volley player would be great, but your strokes would suck. Baseliners, of any kind, would easily win rallies. You also won't have the speed or stamina either. Reflex/bh/fh determine how good your return is, so if you run into a good returner, who just happens to be an offensive baseliner, then lol, that match could be too easy for him.

Making the ultimate defensive baseliner or counter-puncher who can chase down everyball and never get tired would mean that your serve or strokes or relfex (or combinations of 2 or all 3) would be weak. Since fh/bh/reflex determine return, you wouldn't be able to stop the 1-2 punch from big servers/serve and volleyers. An aggressive baseliner with high bh/fh/reflex would get easy points on the return (Agassi made some unblievable down the line return winners off Murray's serve that would be unreachable even by nadal's 82 speed.).

So you see no matter what you try to stack, assuming attributes matter this time, you'll always have something exploitable. This was a nice fail-safe by 2K Czech. Keep the the player cap low, so people who stack will be punished, and use coaches as somewhat of an "extra points" boost system but at the same time making them give unique abilities to players so that players within a certain style could still be different.

If everything goes right TS4 could be really good. ITST would probably need to get new servers because of the overload of new players :D, meaning more competition.

@ jayl0ve : people hated the risks shots not because they didn't believe real tennis players didn't make risks shots themselves, but because of how risk shots were implemented into TS3. As djarvik said, they were put in a "risk shot on demand" kinda fashion. You had players making unbelievable shots, even when they clearly weren't in postion to do so, ALL THE TIME. You have someone on the run, and then they come up with an unbelievealbe 15 degree 100 mph winner. 15 degree 100mph winner WHILE ON THE RUN? That much power and angle while you're ON THE RUN? Really?
People hated the implementation of risks shots in TS3, and not risk shots themselves.

When i first played, until i joined the ITST i very rarely risked. After i incomporated it more and more. With me it depends on a lot of variables, but lag mainly. but the only time i rarely risk now is when i play with fed. i feel his power is enough anyway.

Ok so there are exceptions to the rule.

But you don't totally HATE them do you?? Like....you are totally consumed with rage when you think of risk shots?? I'm talking about these people who seem to SERIOUSLY hate risk shots

To everybody else, I guess we just look at tennis a different way. Short rallies are fine by me, I'm always trying to end points as soon as possible, whether that be 1-3 shots or 6-8 shots or whatever. I like risk shots, blahblah this is a stupid argument we have different opinions who cares.

Who cares Guys. Now it's Time for TS4 and after all these Informations coming through I am absolutely positive that we will love it. I was especially a Riskfan in Top Spin 1 and things always changing. It's not a big Problem to change things if you do it in a excellent way. The Result is all what counts.
