Exactly it seems though there will always be someone moaning until the game has been built around their character..

Power is important, I don't know why guys who use powder-puff characters think they should be able to do anything but sprint around and throw up moonballs... I don't know it's not my problem I don't let silly things like this really bother me I just concentrate on how I'm playing

Agreed... But I really would like to be able to play a real defensive player... It's my play style and 2K told us every setups could compete against others... I just don't want to create a TI/MD player with 80 power... BUT I still want to be able to compete.

By the way, I made a defensive player with something like 70 power with instant rocket and my flat power shot are still dying in the middle of the court... Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
If not, I would think 70 power is more than enough to make a descent power return... Or maybe I have to create a 86+ power just to counter wide out slice serves?

I do want to progress, so debating about this is interesting for me but that just takes my nerves down when I'm playing a guy far better than me who uses this type of serve when I get break point... Of course, knowing that I'll be miles away from the ball.

It's not an exploit though, it's something that's in the game and isn't hidden or anything...BOOM it's right there in your face. Something you have to deal with..not something you pretend is 'invalid' so you don't have to learn to counter it.

It's like 'tick throwing' (making your opponent block something then immediately throwing them) in Street Fighter games. Lots of guys out there, within their own little 'cliques', make up these imaginary rules where tick throws are completely illegal because they are somehow 'unfair' or 'cheating' even. So basically what they're playing is a different version of Street Fighter from everybody else...and when they come across somebody who is playing the real version of SF2 that Capcom made, and who uses every/any strategy within the programming of the game to win (including tick throws), they can just say "Oh that guy was just a cheap player I would have won if the didn't do ____". It's really an ancient (in video game terms) 'problem' we're talking about here and one that's not at all exclusive to TS games and wide slice serves

anyways I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this except that this whole 'wide slice serve' deal reminds me of that

I'm gonna stop here... 'cause you're getting on my nerves and I don't want to be rude.

You're the selfish one here. Just open your mind man. There is a lot of differents playing style. Why should I play yours only for counter a game flaw?
Is tennis only about power and attack ?

Anyway, have a good day.

Even if I don't agree with you, you have arguments and I totally understand what you're saying.
In fact, I agree with you.

But I'm naive. I just don't want to win at all cost, just have fun and compete.

Cya (or not) guys.

i'm not moaning until i will win everything...i'm just saying that winning a game because you knew how to use exploits the best is just cheap. And that is for everything thats out there. Thats why we hate footballplayers that claim to be fouled without actually been fouled just to get a free penalty kick.

It is in the game so it is fair....yeah sure... :-)

I agree that wide slice serves that drag you out wide are NO FUN to deal with, in fact I totally hate them! There I said it! But I don't think they're 'bad' or an 'exploit' or anything I think it's just a simple fact of life for a tennis player! It's something you always have to keep an eye out for...if somebody is using this every point...they're really not using it that intelligently and it's more your problem that they're succeeding with it. If you use it sparingly and on big points (go ahead just shoot me), it is soooo much more effective, they will likely not even get a racquet on it....

Lots of former world #1's have had totally nasty wide slice serves...McEnroe and Sampras come to mind. More McEnroe though...watch some of his old matches and you will see he hit some super 'cheesy' serves in his day

I think we all, at some point, want to completely whine about something that somebody did in a match, but honestly you have to realize at some point that it's counter-productive to actually becoming a better player.

My player wasnt just attack I used to have 82 FH and 82 BH with 75 power.

Secondly I am all for a fair and balanced game so that all playstyles can have fun.

There was one real service issue that was know to everyone from this game and thats the return stutter/gltich.. that as I have read been fixed by the last patch.

Yet the other poster was saying that serves out wide were 'cheesy' I simple disagree.. yes they are difficult to deal with but in no way shape or form impossible for ANYONE. - there is no need for you to start saying you're getting angry or whatever.

You were just saying I'm a mourner and that because I'm a bad looser who, in top of that, is selfish and self-centred.

I second this.

i'm not moaning until i will win everything...i'm just saying that winning a game because you knew how to use exploits the best is just cheap.

- Its actually winning by knowing how to deal with the game mechanics best.

I'll say it again.. I have tried to serve out to the forehand of some of the best players including 'Zero' and honestly he and other good players can totally whip you if you do the slice serve too often.. especially when they know its coming.

'Ok! I'm just gonna train my drop shot return...'

- You told me to stop being close minded.. why dont you try the same in your case.. I never use dropshot returns or lob for that matter.

Now before you get angry.. obviously I don't know what kind of stats you have on forehand or backhand or reflexes so maybe it is indeed more difficult for you to return.. but then again maybe that is an issue with how you have balanced your character and not an issue with the game.

I wasnt addressing you directly, I was also thinking about that other thread where we have started the warm up process of nerfing slice. nothing personal.
