The game is definitely a blend of TS and VT. However, I hated VT3 and love TS4, so the specific differences, for my tastes anyway, are significant.

...pong as in a ball going back and forth.

It just might be the best tennis game I've played. Also I would add SCT3 to the mix.

this is awesome, the 9,0 is correct TS 4 is a great awesome game !!

by the way ,i readed in german video game magazin a article over the new VIRTUA TENNIS .
this also have great testing rates .

the main difference between both is that the new VIRTUA TENNIS is much more arcade than TS4 .

TS4 is the best sim tennisgame in my opinion

**The game is good dude lol don't let that one phrase stop you from buying it. Also, they didn't update it yet so when that happens it'll be definitely worth it.

**2k should take a look at SCT3's movement mechanics!! If they can get the movement somewhat like how it was in SCT3 by golly it would be perfect!!!

**ATTENTION MODERATORS** if you could suggest to 2k that they should look at SCT3's movement system that'd be awesome. Unlike TS4, the movement in SCT3 was fluid and stable, but you could also hit winners and drop shots. You didn't have the respose lag problem that you do in TS4. Just a hint :D

Ts4 is a lot of fun , and Ts4 has a lot more variarity than virtua tennis , Ts3 was a great sim , but the game fell hard to learn , and if I'm going to invest that much time learning to play a game may as well go drill in the real courts .

my only complaint is that the world tour is filled with big forehand 100 power ,90 stamina 60 speed and 40 volley and reflex lol .

By zeus everyone has this configuration ! I had a decent amount of success with my defensive/volley player and its a good twist , but it is almost like if the players dont want to play tennis , they just want to hit big serves and then a big winner every single point , all from the baseline , and stamina is not doing enough to force players to play a little more conservative , I have seen players with 0 stamina bashing big line shots and chasing everything down , and also a player with 40 volley should net the ball every single time they hit it at the net , then it would add some strategy .

I'm not whining , but if they adjusted the screws just a bit this game would be a 10 in my opinion .

Suggestions :

slow down serves or make it hard to hit big serves at least so they don't have 2 chances to ace you in a row .

Make STamina more significant , if the oponent has 0 stamina left in the rally that oponent should run slower and miss every single big shot unless it is perfect timing "

For Pete ! make it so if you got thrown out of the court that if you are pointing the controller to go back in the court that it actually does ! I hate when my players just stands there looking at the guy set up for a big forehand instead of trying to get back in the middle of court !

Oh and please fix the on line auto match freezes and I will put this game in my face book !

I do like TS4, but there are some glaring deficiencies! And what's really weird is that it seems like these changes were made purposely.

For example, why in the world was dpad compatibility taken away  ?

And the serve is messed up! Why are there only two service animations in player creator? And why such a disparity in speed using the buttons vs the stick. Some of us don't like using the sticks

Odder still, why do the women get four serve animations??? Now that makes absolutely no sense at all.

They really messed up the stick serving in this one. Not only is it way too easy, but they took out so much variety. On TS3, you could hit 3-4 different speeds with each stick serve - now there's one.

The only way I can return the big serves is if I sort of mind read and anticipate the serve and run there before the guy hits the serve , I beat a guy this way with the berskerk stick server trait , as he proceeded to call me a cheater for having a hack that allowed me to see where he was going to hit his serve lololol

Hm, from what I've experienced there are different speeds, they just seem random. It does feel as if my serve is slower if I'm playing S&V than when I stay back though. You'd say it has to do with timing, but even with perfect there is some variation. And you can actually hit aces with timing 'Too Late', as long as the direction is good.

But yes, there definitely is less control in the speed.

You think I'm the only one uses dpad :?

I seriously doubt it! Anyway why take the option away? Some prefer control, and the dpad offers way more control than the sticks. Particularly the stubby mushroom capped twigs of the PS3 controller. The Xbox controller is only a little better ...

I think it was Rob who said it another thread, but it was something like this.

If they took the dpad away it was probably because it is possible to move in all directions now and not just the ones with get the dpad. Which makes sense to use stick as that lets you move in all directions possible.

Something like that, I think. Maybe Im just going crazy?
