I would like to be optimistic after read and watch the videos of Top Spin 4, but because the experience with this game before and some of the animations (a lot of them) I saw I'm not so much, and as Mansewerz from tennis-warehouse.com said:

Watched the video, and here are some of my comments.

Good:
-Improved roster
-Game speed has picked up
-Playing defense seems to be more smooth, realistic (quick flicks, WW forehands, etc)
-The players movement seems to be less clunky

Bad:
-Players have the wrong types of shot technique. Ex: Pete Sampras does not hit a pinpoint style serve. He uses a platform serve. Any tennis enthusiast can pick out a Sampras serve. I mean really? They perfectly replicated his serve in Topspin 1 (and serve reception and big movement on his forehand). Why can't they do that now?
-Forehand technique especially is damn ugly at times. It looks like they're slapping the ball. I mean seriously? These are pros, not backyard hacks.

Other issues: DLC? Will there be any?

The devs have said that their aim is to make it feel like you ARE the pro on the court, not someone watching a tennis match. And a pro on the court would not hear any commentary. I read this in an interview somewhere.

Absolutely no need for commentary - it would just get annoying after a few matches (same thing, over and over again). Crowd reaction, now that's huge - should enhance the experience a ton.

Since when TT is an Authority in TS games? We are!

Strokes in ALL TS games never looked like the real thing, but they sure felt good.

Commentary is great! ...if you play once a week.

Hey Kludd, a question. You've been around the forums a long time, why haven't you ever picked up an ITST racquet (joined the tour)?

Nice!

Then use the new advanced and export facial morphing controls to finetune every feature

Haven't those guys heard of Top Spin 3?

Hope the outfit selection etc. works faster and smoother than in Ts3.

Career mode looks way better, could be quite fun really.

...still very few stroke animations. I am not complaining, just an observation.

The coaches and perks (COD style) is REALLY what will set this game apart I think. This is another great layer of strategy! Especially if your opponent cannot see your coaches and stats bonuses - but rather sees you without them..... then you surprise them with Gulbis-like consistency!!!!

I did in TS3, played US open I think and lost in the first round and I honestly don't know why I stopped. Then last year I became a father so I naturally got less time to play around with long matches or playing xbox at all. It became something I did/do more sporadic.

BUT, I plan to play ITST-matches in TS4. :D

I believe so to, I always like to play career mode. But I still dream of a seamless integration between career mode and online. So instead of AI i could choose to invite or randomly get opponents online into my career mode.

I've been disecting the new trailer now and there seem to be some new tournaments. I spotted San Fransisco, Hong kong, Monte Carlo and Madrid as an outdoor clay court. But I think there is more new ones. Hopefully they have removed the unrealistic ones (fish under the court) :D
