I think you need to come up with a definition of (argh I hate this word) 'cheesy' first. If you can't come up with anything that actually makes logical sense (and "something that gives an unfair advantage" does not work because that is super-vague) then it doesn't exist.

Im honestly not trying to come up with a sophisticated argument or saying I could design the game better, I couldnt design a game to save my life, I would overlook so many things. I think they are bound to make mistakes, and I think that is why ITST is so great, as they kind of play around the flaws instead of exploiting them.
I just dont particularly want to have to play really boring ITST matches with people spamming an unrealistic shot and as a result quit a tour when I dont really want to again

I agree, its a question of balance. If your hitting some weak ass dementieiva 2nd serve at 78 MPH and the guy clatters in from inside the line, then its your own fault. However if its a 121 mph one, it should maybe only work if you look to chip and charge or something, and then only sporadically. all about getting the balance :D

i find that returning inside the baseline kills serve and volleyers, or at least makes it very hard on them

Sounds about right. Much less time to react or think about getting to the net, its just incredibly difficult in real life to do, so would require another rating higher than perfect on the timing front haha

But why are we comparing how this game performs to how things are in real life.

I don't think we'd like 100% realistic games....I think we all like coming back from the dead in Call of Duty.
