How to Create a Fully Trained Character in Five Minutes

Postby Cro Morgan » Fri, 18 Jul 2008 11:38

A video description of the shortcut can be found here > CLICK

First...

Take your new character online and do a ranked Quick Match. You don't actually play the match, just wait for someone to enter the lobby and then leave. This will give you 40 XP's. If you already have free XP's, you can skip that step.

Alternately, you can play an Exhibition offline, instead of doing the Quick Match. Just set the difficulty to Very Easy, and set the match to 1 set, tiebreak. Do this if you don't want to lose you stats in the online World Tour.

Next - Remove the "TS3 update"...

To remove the "TS3 update" from your Xbox 360*:

• Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System Blade, and select Memory.
• Highlight the HD symbol and press Y.
• Highlight "Clear System Cache" and press A.

You will see a confirmation message to confirm system maintenance, proceed.

* Removing the update will also delete all of your clothing, racquets, etc. from your locker room. You may want to buy your new character's equipment before you remove the update.

To remove the "TS3 update" from your PS3:

• Go to the Game Data Utility > TS3 data.
• Push triangle, delete. This will not erase your players, that data is in save game utility.
• Disconnect from the internet. If you don't you will just re-download the update.
• It will take a couple of minutes to re-install on the HDD and you can create players again until you reconnect to the internet.

After you have removed the update...

Go to the Player Area > Player Evolution. Pick any skill - let's go with "forehand."

1. Highlight forehand and press A.**
2. Add the 40 XP's and press A again.
3. Press A one more time, and remove the 40 XP's you just added, but this time press B instead of A. The forehand will still have the points you added, and they will still be available to use again.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until you have about 35,000 XP's.

Tip: To speed things up a bit, on step 3 do this: When you reach 100 on forehand, only remove points until it is at 89 (orange). This will give you about 4,000 points each time you do that step.

** For the PS3: A = X and B = O

When you go back online you will have to, again, install the TS3 update. You will need to remove the update each time you create a new character.

70 and unranked

Postby Tantsutallinn » Fri, 18 Jul 2008 12:37

now i see unranked players very often having maximized stats lol

some of them dont know how to play at all,
some of them are just trying new things,
some of them belong to top 100 and are hard to beat.

Just wanted to add this:

Although you can only have four created characters on the hard drive, you can have as many as you want if you copy them to a memory card. Just build four characters, copy them to the memory card, then delete them from the hard drive. Repeat.

If you want to try one of your characters, just copy it to the hard drive, and make sure there are no more that four on that drive.

You probably shouldn't attempt to load a character off the memory card in the game. I don't know what would happen if you had more than 4 characters and you tried to load from it.

I have 10 on my memory card, but I never load them from inside the game. I copy them to the hard drive, then use them.

Do you think the creators of Top Spin 3 know about the trick you just mentioned? (Taking away points but then pressing B)

No, it's not a bug that does anything to the hard drive to get exploited, it's merely an error in the coding, at least in their eyes. It doesn't even do anything to your TS3 saved game data.

I believe it erases all game updates, which will be re-downloaded when you play each game.

In TS3, it also deletes all of your gear and money.
