Lucky loser

Postby maximo » Mon, 16 Aug 2010 14:07

Hi all, this week i will not play in W&S FINANCIAL GROUP MASTERS SIM, i thought that i signed up for the tournament, but maybe i did something wrong, i think that other players have had this problem or have forgotten sign up or something, the thing is that there are several players who sign up in tournaments but later they don´t play their matches, i have been thinking that maybe, in the cases which a player says to his rival from the begining that he will not play we could try to do something similiar to Lucky loser. what do you think guys?

That is not a bad idea actually if it can be implemented in the system (currently tournament directors do not have the ability to do that). But basically a player would have to notify the tournament director by Monday or Tuesday in order to give the lucky loser sufficient time to schedule and play his match by Friday.

How would that work? Would you have 4 'bonus' sign up slots after all sign ups have been given out for lucky losers or will there just be a forum thread asking for someone who wishes to enter?

we could create a topic where players who for whatever reason can not play the first round, warn the other players who could not register on time in the tournament and are interested in playing can sign, I think that could be done for all first round, and if there is more than a lucky loser, would be selected for ranking, we do not miss anything with this and could prevent many WO.

No need for a rule. Draws are often expanded to accommodate additional entries - so there is absolutely no reason why someone can't play any tournament they wish. They just have to register.

i mean thats not good .
how often someone forgetten to sign up for a tournament ?
not often-nearly never .

at least the draw would irregular coz he is made in relation to the ranks from each player
as example when a top ten/top twenty player is involved.
thats not fair .

is possible nobody forget sign up for a tournament, but mistakes are possible, giving that chance we don't lose nothing, i think it would be good for all in the future, or maybe is a terrible idea, i don't know it.
Of course, if i am the only one who have had sometime this problem, is not necessary create the lucky losers.
