hahaha that's true, well i think they create the game using the motion capture system, and it's hard to find a woman using a 1 handed backhand (Hennin), besides ATP is more important than WTA so the company put more attention on men than on women.

Off topic: I don't wanna open a thread for this, but all this remind me that i´m against Wimbledon tournament decision of paying the same amount of money to men and women, that's discrimination, not equality, not only because i'm sure women don't generate as large profits for the WTA than men do for the ATP, but also because women don't play to the best of 5 sets. What Wimbledon did with that decision was discriminate men (btw i guess other tournaments do the same, because the media loves and applaud these kind of decisions)...that's it....and as we say in Spain (abro el paraguas)

Women's Tennis generated far more profits and popularity than Men's in the 1997-2002 period, on ESPN prime time it was women's tennis being shown and not mens. The WTA was pretty much what was keeping tennis popular and at the time was far more important.

The Quality of play on both tours has diminished greatly since then, and if it wasn't for Federer and Nadal, I think the state of tennis would be miserable. Not that it isn't already.

i respect your opinion, i haven't watched a full women match in ages and i won't, i play tennis and i know how difficult it is to play, the difference of quality between the 2 tours is enormous, when i watch women play i can not admire anything they do, (talking about tennis), just my opinion,my perspective, every one has a right to their own opinion, i respect all of them

I agree one hundred percent, i hate it when there is a womans match on before a mens match you want to play and you try to watch it, but i makes you so sick to watch, and in the end you totally forget about the mens match and miss it :?

But yeah, look at the stadiums in womens macthes compared to mens matched, its half as full. And as you say, the longest womens match is the same as the shortest mens match, in sets anyway :?

I never really was a fan of womens tennis , only time i liked it was around 2000 2001 when you had the williams sisters at their peak, Seles , Capriati and Clijsters were all around, now its just tedious and the players just dont have any charisma or styles,

Mens tennis got that now with Nadal but he needing a real challenger , Federer is still there but maybe fading a bit, and I seriously dont see Murray as a Grand Slam champion

I was talking about tennis in the 1997-2002 period, in which case womens tennis was allot more popular and got more air time. The crowds for womens tennis at the time were allot larger.

Lately, the tennis on both tours has been awful to be honest.

Otlichno, I agree with you that women's tennis in the late 90's through early 2000's was very exciting, particularly Venus Williams level of play. The men's game was lame in comparison. However, this is no excuse for the present state of the wta.

Now its vice versa! Even the men's tour is suffering somewhat right now. With all the prize money slushing around I don't understand why this is the case.

Agree with all the comments. 10 years ago there was a great mix of styles and personalities on the womens tour. Now a lot of them hate what they are doing and are all hit and miss. I also think the age rule hasn't helped quicker developers gain more experience, all the greats broke through in their teens.
