The Exhibition Thread

I was just thinking that quite a few of us play a lot of exhibtion type matches with each other in between itst matches. Therefore, it might seem a good idea to keep track of some of those results that we get in those exho matches. We don't have to post every single one but perhaps the more significant results or what ever. This thread could also be used to set up practise sessions between players. Ultimately, it is an exhibitions thread so feel free to post what ever you want in relation to this


I will start by posting a very important result for me - beating Retos in straight sets in an exho earlier 7-6 7-6. I have to say though that unfortunately lag played a majot part where both our timing on returns seemed to be affected greatly but it was still a good result for me considering previously I only ever managed to take 3 games from retos in a single set. Hopefully it is the start of greater things Post away your exho results.

We had a very tense match a couple of days ago. It ended 15-13 in the last tie breack for you if i remembe right

Perhaps I will change it to looking for a return now Yes I remember that. It is always nice to win such dramatic tiebreaks

I played Joesixtoe last night and I lost 6-7 6-7 but it was a really enjoyable match. For me, he is one of the best off the ground. I feared if a rally went more than 4/5 shots that he would unleash that deadly short angled topspin cc so I was under pressure to try and get the first big hit in all the time which is tough coz he defends really well.

7-6, usually to Pix777 in the last 10-11 meetings. Possibly a 6-4 thrown in there. Some monstrous rallies in there. There really should have been a replay/highlights system in TS3, damn.

Lately I have been having great matches with Joesixtoe, Mack and tansupalavik.

It is hard for me to pick a favorite match, moment.

Last match with Joesixtoe comes to mind, a FIVE setter win. Tie breaker in the last set. It was just filled with great tennis, emotions, pressure. I had to take a break till the next day with TS3, was mentally exhausted.

With Mack, I went from winning him fairly easy, to being completely blown away, to now playing very competitively and actually wining Mack again from time to time. Our matches are always fun and entertaining. Lots of rallies and just great tennis.

Tansupalavik is playing very similar to me, but just Better! It is a great fun playing him and outsmart him, which is not easy but possible I made him stumble more then once, only to see my self loose it in the last set of the match. He is a great "match player" and able to adjust to your style on the fly.

There are plenty more, I never kept a track, but now I will! Great thread Mack! It gives all players a look at their opponents from the side, and discover great upcoming Match Ups in the tournaments!

Mack this is a good thread.

Played Anil today, and he took care of me 6-2 6-3. He played with his ITST player not Gasquet. The big problem i had playing with him was his returning my risk returns. I thought i was hitting them deep enough, but he countered them easily. He played really tough through the whole match.

I played anil a couple of times lately, he's just unplayable. Too good. Even when the score are not too raw, it's always a pain to score my service when he get them at 15 or just 0.

Anil has a new player he uses now for itst matches I believe? I used to play him a lot at the start of the year and we'd always have really close matches with him coming out on top but I think he'd trash me now. He seems to have improved so much since then already from what I hear

Played some enjoyable matches with Rob last night. In the first one I accidentally set it to do a match tie break for the third set, whoops. I won that one 4-6 7-6 10-5, but Rob probably should have won it. He was in every one of my service games, but only went 1/8 on break point, whereas I didn't have a single break point. He also won one more point than I did in the match.

In our next match, he beat me in three sets (7-6 4-6 6-3 I think) on grass. There were six breaks of serve altogether, and it felt like a really realistic match against a serve and volleyer. My return was a lot better that match, but my serve was worse. Amazingly enough, I won four more points than Rob this match, so the winner of each of our matches won less points. In the third, Rob got a break right off the bat to go up 2-0, but I got it right back and we stayed on serve for a bit. Then out of no where Rob broke me again up 4-3, even though I was starting to feel a lot more confident on my serve.

I said this to Rob last night, this game just seems to keep getting better all the time. If only more people didn't play the massive power style this game would be absolutely perfect. But I see more and more people going away from it and I think guys are gradually finding ways of countering and beating this type of game. This bodes well for the competitive future of this game.

I beatAnil in WT earlier Ironically enough, I beat the reigning ITST Aus Open champion in the Australian Open final 3-4 4-3 10-7. I just wish I could do that in a normal match set up but still a nice win considering the amazing form he is in right now.

Played Setheleh for the very first time earlier in an exhibition and it was a very enjoyable match. I came out firing and played a great first set, winning my set point with a nice half volley to claim the set 6-4. Unfortunately, I needed to take a toilet break halfway through the 2nd set and the momentum started to shift after that. I did have break points at 4-4 that would have put me in a position to serve for the match but I didn't convert and before I knew it, I had been broken myself and faded away badly in the final set losing 6-4 4-6 3-6. I think Setheleh is a very interesting player who really thinks tactically and adapts his game accordingly to his opponent. He was happy to let me dominate for a while but once I started to tire he was straight in there for the kill lol.

Played Djarvik today and he won 7-6 7-6. He had a couple break point oppurtinities, but that was it, I could get a couple points off his serve, but no break chances. The tiebreaks, he took advantage of my slice serve and took the lead early. It was a good match, but djarvik was never in any real trouble.

I play against anil every day.....,the last 4 Matches we played without using risk shots.lot of Fun a great rallies.

this point is the greatest if ever played!! i should have won the point two or three times, then i smashed a backhand-cross -court -top-spin across the net and the next thing i know is, that mack contered with a volley stop! it was UNVELIEVABLE!!! we both kept our hands from the controller to watch this great point in the replay again. it was just sooo beautiful to watch!!!
the match was great, with a loooot of rallies. i like players like mack a lot, as he said, there is a lot of tactic implemented, not just overpowering your opponent. great match, it was so much fun
