OR it was the pressure I put on you to always have to play the one extra shot that got you frustrated and made you go for more on you'r L2 shots. Which explains why at the beginning you made nearly no errors but as the match went on they became more and more common.

Otlichno wrote:Beat Petrelli 6-2 6-3 we were both Bishop. Honestly the match was much close than the score suggests the only difference was I saved allot of breakpoints with my improved serve. (Thanks Maximo I always thought button serving was worse than stick but I hit MUCH closer to the lines with buttons so thank you for suggesting that to me), I mixed up my serve allot so I felt he had no idea what was coming at him, there was a bit of lag and Petrelli loves going to the net so that was a big disadvantage for him. Well played Petrelli.

I noticed your serve is changed...now u serve much more better than before with button...your serve was predictable.now u mix more and with more accuracy...we had the same bp,6,but u saved all yours...good job :tu

Beat Petrelli 3-6 6-3 7-6! This is the most hard fought win I've ever had since beating fedfan in the R16 at the ITST Open. We were both playing so well. In the first set he broke me immediately I had a break point in the next game couldn't convert it we held serve and again I had break points on his serve but couldn't convert and it went on serve until the last game were he broke me again. In the second at 1-1 I broke him and again it stayed on serve until the last game were I broke him. The second the both of us were going for our shots I somehow came through in the tie break with some lucky returns and than on match point he hit a return out and I won the match. Petrelli has one of the best all around games I've played against at the moment baseline offence defense and volleying he has it all. Well played Petrelli!

Well can you believe it? I've just beaten Otlichno in our Bishop vs. Bishop match. Was my first match with Bishop and lost serve straightaway... Despite having 9 breakpoints in 1st I couldn't convert any. He converted 1/7. 4-6 to him.

In second set he was playing s&v. Was actually pretty tough to play against, as Bishop does reach many balls at the net somehow. But not as many as a Striker, as I ended up grabbing two breaks. Without dropping serve I took it 6-2.

Third set I had an easy hold to take a 1-0 lead, and as I got to 0-30 on his serve I felt I could take it. Lost 4 points in a row to see him level things up and take a 15-40 lead on my serve... Nevertheless I managed to hang on and hold serve for a 2-1 lead. He then held serve pretty comfortable, and proceeded to break my serve to love. With him gaining the momentum I tried to play more aggressive, and that paid off as I broke back straightaway to level it up again, 3-3. Then I struggled to hold serve once again, but managed to take the 4-3 lead. With aggressive L2-returns I pushed him back on his serve, and moving into the court I put him under pressure and managed to break to love. And, believe it or not, I finished the match on my own serve to 15 immediately.

Was a really tough match, could have gone either way. Was really tactical gameplay, not overpowering your opponent, but getting him out of position. Was a bit like playing chess. Really fun to play with Bishop.

Just had a burns vs burns match with dark paladin, lost 6-3 7-6.

Serve and volleying even at my level is crazy fun, I have no idea how dark paladin does it but he never has any "awkward" volleys, whereas some of the time my volleys we're just not even volleys. Anyway, really enjoying this "new" side of the game that I never really explored before, recommend it to anyone that is getting bored of the usual baseline battles :D

Yeah my match against Tombs was really fun, I used to be a very good serve and volleyer so I wanted to see if I still had that part of my game.

I dont .

But our baseline battles were something else, anticipation, placement ALL things were needed to win. I always thought you serve and volleyer's played that style because you were bad at the baseline. I was wrong. Tombs knew were to place the balls to put me in the least comfortable position our rallies were really long in the first set and I lacked the patience to keep them long and went out all risk in many of the rallies it sometimes paid off it generally didn't. Very smart tennis from Tombs wearing me down until I couldn't do a thing.

When you play SV yourself, you know its weaknesses so much better, and can expolit them much easier :)

Yea it was a fun game. Alex forgot to mention he could make it a 3setter. He served for the set at 5-4, but luckily he missed 3 first volleys in that servegame.
The fact that he had an awfull game reminds me of myself. I discovered some sort of pattern, in every set i have 1 dreadfull servegame, i don't know why.
It seems like i am the only one using slicevolleys as 1st serve, Villa, Alex, Tombs, Sound all use normal volleys. Perhaps a tip guys :)

I always use slice volley as 1st volley, unless the ball is high enough to hit a normal volley, but that doesn't happen too often as Striker is too slow for that.

Beat alex for the first time in ages today, 7-5(5) Yes Alex i am reporting this and no Alex i will not report the countless losses i have had from you.

Coulnt have started of worse, he gets like 0-40 i save 1 break point then get broke. However i manage to get some break points the next game and break him back. I then almost had another chance for a break at 2-1 but he managed to hold. At like 4-3 i got 15-40 but he saved both, i got 2 more break points but he saved them, Went on serve till end of match, but we ha a long game at 5-5 on my serve. In tie break i siezed my opportunites going a minio break then another mini break up, i got 6-2 but he got a mini break back and brought it to 6-5, but i held my nerve and won the point, taking the match, eat that mr alex

Overall i think we were both not at our best, but we played some great rallies with great offensive and defensive play, we both came net well and passed well.
Cant remember stats to well but i know we both won 60 something percent of 1st serves, i hit 22 winners to 17 Unforced Errors, him 17-8, My break points was 1/6, him 1/2. I won 2 more points than him :P

weird set, we were both terrible lol. like when I went and hit a shot that was going out, back in, in the game you broke back . oops.
Fun stuff anyway :)

Not too worried, since I've been losing first sets in 3 of my last 4 sim matches thats right if it were a 3 setter you'd have gone down !!
