You comaplained Bashmakov was to quick, then

djarvik wrote:For Bashmakov we had to do some real work, but I think we did good. The added speed helps him move thru the court get to balls earlier and still generate enough power, penetration and angles to remain competitive. He still has the 90 serve, so holding serve is still relatevly easy with him....but now he is vonerable when not on control of the points (same goes for Cannon).

We couldn't slow him down, and the added speed didn't actually seem to make much difference.

Lowering the power and return were most important.

Correct. He will always be too quick, but now....he cannot pull of Nadal like shots on the run, nor he will be able to be "quick" returns (he had 76). So returning will be much harder with him. He was too quick for a 90 power 90 serve guy. TS3 works in mysterious ways, somehow the speed is the same throughout all speed rating if you know how to use LB (L1) correctly. So a guy with 50 speed will run roughly the same as a guy with 80 speed while holding LB. But, if you don't use LB much... you will notice the speed difference. So while we increased his RAW speed, his LB speed was and always will be "too quick". Unfortunately....we do not have a way of solving that.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

The old Bashmakov with 90 power + 90 serve was just too quick for what he's meant to be, but the new Bashmakov with 75 power looks like a different player altogether.

Remember our test matches, Bashmakov with 75 was very balanced (almost too weak actually, to play his one two punch style). But with the added speed, I see how it could work.

Not sure if Bishop needed his power lowered again, but I guess people gave feedback that it was needed.

Cheers for the explanations djarvik.

Al i think that it's true, but i think at the same time the character with 50 speed for run like the character with 80 speed consumes much more energy

The problem with Bashmakov was never the speed, it's that you would never get to extend the rallies long enough for him to miss.
With the old serve/return/power combo, he was all over you after one or two shots.

Who uses Bishop other than me? In all my sim matches, I haven't played another person that uses Bishop. I don't really mind the change, it's just annoying to have to remake him again and again.

Annoying? I think we should embrace the fact that this is even possible. In past Top Spin games, a SIM tour such as this would be impossible, considering it would take 4-7 hours to create a character.

Truth be told, this may never be possible again, so let's count our blessings, I say.

I didn't mean annoying as negatively as you took it. I just meant it's tedious to have to reset my memory to make a new player and lose all my saved clothes, equipment, and unlock points. Don't get me wrong, I love the new sim tour.

Sorry, didn't mean it in a negative way, just think we're all a bit spoiled. After all, as mentioned, creating characters in past versions of the game took forever, and then some.

Funny, now I'm starting to sound like a typical old fart: "Oh yeah, when I was a young gamer, it took me five hours to create a character - and to buy the game - I had to walk ten miles to the gaming store - uphill - both ways - there and back." :P

You don't have to lose your clothes and equipment (well, not on the PS3 anyway).

On PS3, after I've deleted the Game Data, and then reinstalled, I load my characters back onto the PS3. From here, all my clothes, shoes, rackets etc are available to me. Then I create new characters, overwriting the old ones, dress them with the clothes I have etc. Then I follow the '5 minute character creation' as usual.

You lose them on Xbox. One trick is to put all your clothes/gear on the new character before you remove the update.
