I wish i could use Bash as well as Tomo can   My serve still gets returned with ease with him , but i know you two guys are a lot better level and can understand peoples frustrations with Bash,

My chances against Tomo anyone? Slim i guess. I will be sticking with Gray against him.

Hope ill atleast hang in there to force some TB's were i can take advantage of the 90 return and hopefully land some risk returns.

Well you've done extremely well to get through your half of the draw. Tomo is a diff beast altogther so it will take a special performance it seems esp vs Tomaskov. :( Anyways it seems you've improved loads since we practiced pre-aus open and you got to the final so there's no reason why you can't go 1 step further, it's the belief. 8)

This is only a sugestion, maybe nakamura is better in a 5 set match, he has more stamina, and 81 fh can help u, but if u feel that Gray is your player then play with him.

Tomo(Bashakov) beats josenylund(Gray) 6-4 7-6(7) 6-7(5) 6-3 in Aussie finals.
So as expected i lost to Tomo.

First Set : Went on serve till 5-4 when i was serving. He got a breakpoint and selled it after i hit a shot out.

Second Set: Both held easy. Pretty much 1-2 punches after serve everytime. In the rallies tho i had the upperhand most of the times. I risked 50 % of my shots from the baseline and he kinda hung in there with his powerplay. In the tiebreaker i had two good chances to get a minibreak. I hit one in the net and he made a silly winner on the other one. At 7-8 He got my second serve in play and hit a winner after a short rally.

Third Set[b]: He dominated early on and i was starting to give up but then out of the blue i got some breakpoints on his serve but blew them. Momentum changed and i started to outplay him from the baseline. Come tiebreak i got an early minibreak and held on to take it 7-5.

Fourth Set: He dominated early on again and my Gray was starting to run out of gas. He broke me to go up 3-1 and then held to 4-1 easily.
He served home the title at 40-30 5-3.

Pleasantly surprised with the way Tomo played. He was accually human this time and did not Short risk slice that much. Think tho i have inspired him to risk more with normal shots since he did not do that at all in the first 3 sets and he started to do that really well in the fourth. Hats of to you Tomo ,Gratz

Congrats to both Finalist! Jose, very impressive man! Just don't get into my habit of losing GS finals like me  looks like I am not getting one in MS, too many good players are here now. Jose, you are going to be on top for a while. Your game is great.

I am glad TOMO listen to me when I asked him to use risk slice less. He asked me a few questions about it and I explained that while it is not against the rules, it is considered cheap by many. He agreed and stopped using it on every point. Much respect for that!

He also told me he will be dropping Bashmakov after this tournament. Much respect for that as well.

Congrats TOMO :tu

Congrats to TOMO, a great champion. Much respect for winning and winning clean.

Congrats to Jose for making a final without using Bashmakov or Cannon. It's a tribute to how good you are for getting this far w/ Gray and hanging in there w/ TOMO's Bash.

Two of our tour's best duking out. Good stuff.
