R16 AO DarkPaladin87(Burns) - TOMO(Bashmakov)

Lets start with the stats first

F.Burns Bashmakov
83 1st Serve % 97
56 win 1st serve 95
59 win 2nd serve 0
1 Aces 11
1 DF's 0
39 Winners 63
5 U.E. 8
0\0 Bp's 5\12
54 Total Points 92

This match was sort of a classic, a S&V'er against a powerfull baseliner.

1st set:
We both held our opening servegames, he held comfortably. I had much more trouble holding, made a few volley errors here and there. He then broke me twice in a row leading to 5-1. I then held and he could serve it out 6-2.

2nd set:
The same, got broken twice, NO chance on his serve. I could manage a 30-30 on his serve but nothing more lol.

3rd set:
I changed my tactics, no more S&V. I went for the big serve, approachshot to the other side of the court, easy put away volley. To my suprise it worked!
I held my serve games more comfortably, however at 3-3 i played a crappy servegame resulting in a break for tomo. He served it out 6-4

I found it frustrating at times i couldn't threaten his serve at all. It felt really like 90\40 on his servegames. I have to admit i found his servegames boring and mine more lively, one might say vibrant lol.

If tomo keeps playing like this he has a very good chance in winning the whole event. Go TOMO!

Coke4(Tompson) digs deep to defeat Maximo(Nakamura) 7-5 3-6 7-6 6-7 6-3

1st Set- He both held early on but he managed an early break to lead 3-1. I came storming back winning 4 straight games and breaking him twice to get to 5-4. However after a long game with many dueces and set and break points he managed to break me. However i broke him again and served for it at 6-5, it was another long game but i managed to come through this one to take the set.
2nd Set- In the second set my first serve percentage really dropped and i was getting around 40% first serves in. He capitulised and got an early break and kept it and took it without much trouble 6-3.
3rd Set- We both held the whole set. My first serve percentage was low but throughout the set it was slowly improving. We got to the tie break and i managed to take it. My 1st serve % was mid to high 50's.
4th Set- My sevre was still slowly improving. we were both holding throughout the set. However at 4-4 on his serve i decided to play a bit more agressive, and after a close game i managed to break to serve for the match at 5-4. However with 4 great returns it was 5-5 before i even knew it with him easily breaking to love. We both held then until tie break where he managed to win to take it to a decider. My first serve % was low 60's
5th Set- First few games were tough, but i managed to get an early break and i was up 3-1 30-0 when we disconnected. After that every game went very much to serve with me serving it out to 15 with a forehand down the line winner to take the 5th set 6-3.

Really yesterday i didn´t feel comfortable, a few lag made me that my shots weren´t clean and i lost some stupids games, but it was a great match, we were playing around 2 hours and was a shame that we disconnected, to begin today a set with 3-1 and 30-0 it was a complicated task and there was no story.
Congratulations coke and good luck in your next match.

I am glad to verify that I am not mad, sometimes you play matches that seemingly have good connection, but you see that your shots are not strong or exact that normally are, and sevices were horrible, I remember these percentages that we had, but as already I have said it was a great match and to lose with a great player is less painful.

he had lots of unforced errors (31) to my 6
Served 12 aces he 0
He got 1 double fauilt
Me 44 winners he 36
Total points 90 for me 55 for him
1st serve % 92 for me 91 for him

I thought i returned he's serve pretty well was that the fed serve?
He gave me the breaks basicly from risk shots that went flying out.
But my serve was very very good!
3th set got close sometimes with deuces but dident worry alot.

Yeah, you served well, but i say that most of your aces were down the middle on the ad court? i struggled to get there amongst the lag :(

I dont want to take anything away from Andman, but i felt teh lag contributed to a a loss in my player movement and my timing, meaning i couldnt defend or play my deep L2 shots i was intending.

Can i also say i was called downstairs at 5-0 down in teh first set by my mum to get told to stop battering my controller off my bed
When i came back up it was teh end of set stats

P.S It was serve E(the one after roddicks?)

haha, yeah my mum was right :P

yeah, i honestly couldnt get to grips with teh lag, i was shanking normal shots randomly haha

I think its just my internet connection tonight being poor, i felt lag vs coke aswell in teh practice beforehand. I have felt sluggish returning tonight in general :(

nitoflament def andman666 7-6, 6-2, 6-3
1st set was very equal, each served very well, at first I felt quite uncomfortable for approach shots and volleys andman, he did really well and left me without a reaction, there were some break points for each that could not been realized, the tiebriek also started evenly but luckily I could do a mini break and take the set.
2nd set in the second the thing would change, with an early break I start playing my game and make him run a lot, I had to do it because my tire Bucci had 90 of stamina, he served 2-5 and could break his service again, to take the 2nd set. 6-2.
3rd set, more of the same, I quite complicated with his volleys and risk slice shots, but his net approaches were increasingly weak, where I could pass him with several shots and lobs. He served 3-4 and I get 15-40, he saved a break point, but fortunately for me I could took his game in my second chance. Now with my serve 5-3, served for the match, with a couple of good services I could close the match.
It was very difficult to me play in the beginning, andman took quite well the net and that bothered me a lot, but he could not keep his game plan, i knew it, it would be difficult for him because of his stamina. He is a great player!

djarvik(Sixx) overcomes brgerflipr(Nakamura)
7.6 7.6 6.4

Stats
djarvik | brgerflipr
85% 1st Serve % 50%
75% Win on 1st Serve 62%
39% Won on 2nd Serve 68%
7 Aces 0
0 Double Fault 4
97 Winners 57
22 Unforced Errors 20
3/23 Break points 2/8
132 Total Points 122

This was the longest 3 set match I ever played. A little under 2 hours of tennis. This was a straight set win, by all means not a 3 set match. It was close and leading 5.4 serving for the first set I got broken and we reached the tie break. Surprisingly, I rushed ahead to a 6. lead and closed it out.

I got broken again at the start of second set and was down 3.1 Serving for the set, brgerflipr had to come up with a good service game, something that was really hard to do if you look at amount of break points I had. That game lasted just over 20 minutes. I finally broke and we went to another tie break.....this one was much closer with me winning 8.6

Third set I was feeling very confident and relaxed. I broke immediately and maintained the lead.

I want to command brgerflipr for his uncanny ability to save BPs. I have never encountered such fighting spirit on ITST. And believe me, it was not me choking...it was him, every time....coming up with the goods.

Great match. What started as a fun SIM encounter, turned into a WAR. This was something.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...
