Elargento wrote:it owuld be great if any of you could record the laggy match and uploaded to youtube so people may get an idea of what you are going through. for example in ts2, the lag made the match went choppy like for example in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSwsLQbZuL8 but in top psin 1 you could notice the lag but it didn't affect so much the gameplay, at least once you get used to it. if i knew ts3 handled the lag like in ts1 but not like ts2 i would definitly buy the console and game.

Seeing this video, I can tell you for sure the lag on PS3 is worse, Much worse. On xbox it is sometimes worse sometimes better. The worse lag there is, is when both visual hiccups are combined with a response Lag.

BTW - Lag by definition is when you press a button, (or release) but it doesn't reflect for a few split seconds. Same goes for the ball. You see it on screen, but in reality it can be further away or closer, depending on who lags more and some other factors.

It is my belief that all matches have lag. Just play off line, and see how it "supposed to be". Sometimes lag is minimal and after a few seconds you don't notice it. But sometimes it goes to the other extreme.

All I know, there is nothing, nothing more frustrating then lag. You can short slice me to death with no lag, serve from the tramlines, whatever....but please, please take away the lag.

P.S - I will try and capture the lag on video. I think Alex, Soundofsilence and Viera can try to do it as well. It would be great if we can have examples of what is acceptable lag and what is not.

I recently played with Maximo (spain), Oshiee (usa) DRII (usa), fredz_x (england), without any problem, some obviously delay, but not imposible to play. They are a very good players, and when i lost the game, i know i lost with the best players on the tour. You are a great player to, i dont want win the macht whitou try it.
Djarvik if you have a camcorder, maybe we can record exhibition an watch if the problem is only for one or two players. Thanks.

yes i would be willing to try again , i know some connections dont mix and was just frustrated over it as i kept tripping up and my game relies a lot on timing and just was impossible to move but no you were still 4 0 up so we start from there

Hey are there many players from Aus because otherwise bit worried I will lag it up a bit. Also I got a guy with 3X90 and 88 stats which from what I've read people don't like :(. At least it not 100 though like on WT, omg I have been so close to punching a hole in the wall(or atleast trying lol) from people just serving wide and hitting powerfull all the time with out even any risk :(

Wow a little rant already.

I think lag is not always the same for both players.. there're times I've played someone who said they had lag, while I didn't... and also the other way round, when I had lag, but they didn't.

that´s even worse, if that´s true i´ll quit :D :D , seriously speaking that could be the reason because some guys overhere can hit constantly risk shots with no mistake, there´s no other explanation. These people with "good" connection can easily find the right timing to hit the ball well.
This is something to improve in TS4, if it has to do with 2k sports of course

The first thing people tend do when you say you had lag, but they didn't is call you a lier and bad sport. :? ....benifit of a doubt would be much nicer in this situation. We are not all pathalogical liers.

I am just glad I am not alone in this.

I love the, "YOU lag too much", or, "YOU have a bad connection."

I always respond with "WE lag too much", or "WE have a bad connection". Predictably, the response is always "I have a perfect connection", or my favorite, "I have a fiber optic connection".

We all really proud of our connections :D We nurture them since the 14k modem, or even earlier (god I am old), all thru 56k, IDSL, ADSL, CABLE and FIBER. Of course we want to show off! 8)

Does anybody actually have a fiber optic line running to their house? Aren't they all either coax cable or DSL?

I believe Verizon Fios is the only Fiber Optic option. (a reasonable one)

My house will be connected to Fiber network at the end of this year 8) .....once that happens, my signature will include: YOU LAG - NOT ME!

For now I have a cable, works fine.

Damn, I just looked it up. 50mbps. Of course, that is "up to" 50mbps, but I'm sure it's still much higher than cable. And I always thought people were full of crap/ignorant when they said they had fiber optic connections.

the speed of the connection has nothing to do with the lag. besides it's like rob said, the lag depens on the distance between the 2 players servers and you can't do anything to avoid that. what you can do is close all web apps like antivirus or messengers that may create some lag. besides that there isn't much to do.
