Not pissed me off, but certainly concerned me. I just don't want all the matches to become a contest of who can short slice better

:lol:

Yeah i vaguely remember u using short both triggered slices alot when we played before.... and u said there were fine..... Surprising how when someone does it to you.... you bring it up......... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

But apart from that im not saying anything else 8) :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

He S&V and everytime he would go wide on the deuce side with his serve and I managed to hit a short LT-B cross ,his player just wouldn't react on the ball. This just happened over and over. Ugh .

Emate serving is still sub par, hence that happened. Like Rob said, with good placement and mix, SV is almost guaranteed a Tie break.

I wonder If I should play SV in PS3 hmmm :D Interesting Idea!

As long as Coke will give me some volley lessons! Where are you Coke!

im sorry i am not good at teaching people to do things in this game :( also if you learn to volley you would be almost impossibe to beat :P i like passing you 8 out of ten times you come to the net :lol:

IMO opinon everything is fair game...why even create this topic, honestly? Ugh. I don't care how nicely you approach the topic, you are still criticizing somebody else for something in their game that obviously worked wonders.

Do you think I like it when Rob hits impossibly short-angled (yet realistic)putaway volleys, or ridiculously (again still very realistic) deep volleys in the corner??? CONSTANTLY? NO, I HATE IT!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: But this is tennis, and you are trying to do what your opponent hates/feels very uncomfortable with.

I wasn't replying to you :oops: :oops: Sorry if you think this was meant at you. I was directing my post at Djarvik. Not trying to be hostile towards him at all, though.

Hi guys... yes, maybe i make excessive slice but i think that it's not cheesy because slice is part of tennis and everyone can find a lot of ways to counter its
However if everyone thinks that it's cheesy use the slice after the serve just say and it will become a new rules of ITST , no problem for me!!!
But i want say just one thing: i serve, my opponent returnes i use a "no slice" shot and after my opponent send me again the ball i use the slice, it's not "the same"?

Sorry for my bad english :wink:

no you are not in trouble with this. its confirm with the rules. i only hate this balls, because they stopp the flow from the match and it constrain you to play from "no mans land" because you must always 2 steps inside the field.

WHEN YOU PLAY PERMANENT EVERY SHOOT THIS SHOOT,THAN ITS NOT CHEESY-
BUT ITS FOR ME SAME AS WHEN YOU PLAY EVERY SHOOT A DROP SHOOT!!

@NARCOSIS2009
Dude, I don't think you understood the thread. I meant one slice only, the one immediately after your own serve. You serve , I return and you short slice me. Now combine that play with 90 serve. I am a decent returner, but in PS3 is so easy to execute that slice that if you are fairly close, it will work. This forces me as returner to constantly do a double trigger return, making the game boring. The reason I sliced against you in rallies, is that you are standing 10 feet behind the baseline, hitting every shot with double trigger, and making them :lol: so I have to shorten it, bring you in. It was never as an attack, rather a defense, you the one attacking :wink:

@coke4
:oops: ...it's more like 7 out of 10 :lol:

@jayl0ve
Jay, I don't think I was hiding the fact that I am criticizing. Yes I am. :wink: Something bothered me, hence this thread. Just wanted to see if I am the only one that is bothered by it or not. I think it is better then creating a thread and "hinting" at the person. Not everything is fair game, we have banned the returns from inside the baseline and serving from tramlines. :wink: Lets play once, I'll show you what I mean by this thread, OK?

@VillaJ100
great! I'll make a pure SV guy lets see if I can pull this off.

@Pocho89
Like I told you on PSN, feel free to use it as it is within the rules. I admit it, I don't like it, but that's just me. :) I really hated our second match, the one I forced to play that slice, even if it got me the win. But you have mentioned that you enjoyed it, so I guess that is how we are going to play each other. :wink:

BTW - I specifically posted this in PS3 forums. I wanted opinions of PS3 tour members. Like I said, I find the 2 consoles very different in game play. Things that work for PS3 don't work for XBOX.

I don't have problem with it. Not everyone plays exactly the same, we all have different styles. We all enjoy different aspects of tennis. Some like serving, some like power, some like slices, some like volleying and on and on. That's why this game is so great, so many different styles, all can be effective if used properly.

Is it difficult to play against? Absolutely. But it's ok by me. Now, I just need to learn how to do it myself. :lol: :lol:
