fedfan wrote:Good points Villa, it's weird how some of us just seem to match up well whereas other times there are complete mis-matches regardless of the stats.

I mean I've beaten Djarvik and Brgerflipr but Calvkln I can't touch, where has he gone btw? When I play you though I'm always expecting a long competitive match, beating great players has raised my expectation level so if anything I lose a lot of matches now because I get frustated very easily if I can't take my chances.

Plus Andy, according to Brger you were aiming for the back fence so I think maybe you just had a really bad day, rather than the match being down to Nakamura overpowering you.

Yeah i've never taken a set off djarvik, i've beaten brgerflipr in friendlies about twice, coke i used to beat, then just beat, then only just lose, and now just lose lol. never played some good players like lonamer, tomo, andymachine etc. so not sure how i'll match up to those.

coke4(tompson) defeats lonamar(lopez) 6-4 6-7 6-3 7-6

1st Set- I broke early on in the set,at 2-2 when i opened up a 15-40 lead, and that was enough to see me take it 6-4. I dont think there were any other b.p, but i could be wrong.

2nd Set- He got 0-40 with me serving at 1-2, i saved the first two but he took the second. He held until 5-3 serving for the set when i managed to break him. We both then held easily until the Tie-Break. I went up an early mini break but he retrieved it and went to get another to take it, i think, 7-4.

3rd Set- I broke straight away to open up a 3-0 lead, this was again enough to see me through for the set, but i had a tricky game at 3-1. I served it out at 5-3.

4th Set- I got a 0-40 early on but he managed to save all 3 break points and hold. Then at 3-4 he really piled the pressure on and got multiple break points, 2 of which i saved with the skin of my teetk. We both held until the breaker. I went up an early mini break but he got it back. It was mini break galore then but i got 6-5 on my serve but he saved it. I then got 8-7 but he saved it again. Then at i think 11-10 i managed to get the win.

Coke - good win dude. Steadily making your way thru. Next match w/ maximo should be a great one. I'm very intrigued by who's gonna win this one.

Kyuuji (Cannon) Vs SoundfSilence (Gray)

WIN Kyuuji: 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3

Image

1st Set:

Both players have never played each other before. I don't know what he expected of me (probably not much as my records suck :)), but from his records I expected a top class player. I might have caught him by surprise breaking him straight away and held onto my serve to lead 2-0.

He had some break chances, but non converted. At 5-3, I broke him again to take the set!

2nd Set:

Keeping my momentum, I held serve and broke him immediately 2-0!!! He started to find his rhythm now, and I became tentative as I thought all I had to do was hold serve to win this set. Well he broke back and it came to 3-3. After a long game (5 or 6 deuces, maybe more), he broke, my stamina (Gray) really struggling now. He served out the set 6-4.

3rd Set:

I still believe I could beat him and as I was serving first, I was always edging ahead holding. At 3-3, this was the most disappointing bit of the match for me.. I was 40-0 up, easily.. but I let him break... From then on, my mental stamina was going! He served it out 6-4.

4th Set:

He was bashing it everywhere now, I can barely stay in the points due to lack of power and slow movements... It's really hard to hit winners past him, Cannon just moves too well. At 3-3 again.. he broke.. then went on to break again at 5-3 (lots of deuces on my serve).

---

Well, I'm disappointed with the loss.. but he played better so, congratulations to him. The match was fun, in the end he had more weapons than me.. He served better, clean shots with full power, and risked returned well... I could keep up with good stamina, but once stamina went I couldn't play my game.

(BTW, all 3 losses I've had in Sim have come against Cannon!!! :stupd )

I predict Kyuuji vs Marlonbrando to go to 5 sets.. and I'll say Marlondbrando Wins

Thanks SoundfSilence, I feel like I was sure to beat him, but I was so surprised when he won the 1st set 6/3
He was playing too good, he had a good defense, I was sometimes lucky, he made bad service (not double faults but some bad), I had a big chance, he couldn't play better because of his stamina, so I had many opportunities.

He is maybe right about the match against Marlondbrando as it's the 1st time I will play him, he might be dangerous, I was surprised when he has beat K-Par
He will maybe be a big danger for the SIM Tour, let's see what he can do, and I wish I can try my best to him like I did my best against SoundfSilence.
