Fredz_x - something tells me you are not going to like the SIM tour, it will heavily depend on risk.

Let that argument die.

My offer of actually helping you get better stays on the table. Just say the word or send me a PM with your questions and I promise I can get you competitive within a week or so.

Back on Thread Topic.

Rplunk.

Boy, if this guy can keep up his level and be more consistent in ITST tourneys! He wooooped my hiney in 40-90 yesterday 7-6 1-6 4-6 and right before that in SIM 6-2 6-4.

Props to him, he played outstanding yesterday night. He was really scary and shuttered my confidence before 4 matches that I have to play this weekend

Thanks dude! :tu

You can thank me for that. I played RPlunk a few nights ago and won something like 7-6, 6-4. Then I gave him some tips on serving and I think he's won all our matches since.

I've given people tips before, but I've never seen anyone start using them so effectively and so quickly.

dude me and Rplunk played the other night.... i won but cant really remember the score....also i was very drunk and went a little over board...so im making a public apology....i accused him of purposely causing lag anytime i had a wide open winner....it was just plain weird...anytme i had a chance to put the ball away a mysterious lag appeared....neways i dont know if that can actually be done and...@Rplunk sorry that i went off on you about it-----------i also went off on Anteros the same night ---he beat me 6-4 6-4-----i asked him if he could hit any other return other than a trigger return....once again sorry if i went off on you...i was a bit drunk

It was NOT his serving that won him matches. Although I do see a definite improvement! It was his defense and baseline play and returns. In fact, his serving was the only thing I was comfortable with, even with 90 serve.

That is correct. I have also helped him a lot, but yesterday, the tables turned, I was the one asking "how?"

I played Julty the other day and he hit maybe 30 risks, which he admitted to, and had a grand total of 0 unforced errors. needless to say i lost 7-6, 6-1.

I thought we were done with it.

I always felt I was able to win him because of his risks. He always went for too much and always end up with tons of errors. Our last match was August 8th.

I am not nagging anyone ability to risk, I am just saying that risking all the time and committing no errors is nearly impossible. I risk a lot as well, and I commit errors as well.

Maybe it's just a personal experience, I'll admit it. But I didn't see anyone who uses moderate risk ending up with 2-3 UE in a 3 set match.

Well I played my first PS3 exhibiton match and Coke4 had the honour of being the first to whoop my ass  He beat me in straight sets but was complimentary about my game so that made me feel a little better about my chances of doing well on the ps3 tour.
He has a great serve. So many times he would force me out wide on the return and even though I knew where he would serve, I just couldn't get a decent enough return back in play, just easy set ups for him to whack the ball away for a winner. Also, movement just continues to be an issue for me. I have 80 speed but I feel so slow to respond(it isn't lag causing this I'm sure). Perhaps I just have to accept that movement is very differant on the ps3 compared to xbox. I am just used to retrieving like mad but I can't really do that here. Think I need to up my speed to 90 and lower my returns to 70 and beef up the serve a bit more and see what happens.
Thanks for the match anyway Coke. I hope when we play again soon that you will notice improvements in my game

Mack, don't laugh.

I find this a complete opposite. I can retrieve every ball on PS3 while on XBOX I move like a tank.

I serve better on XBOX.

I return much better on PS3.

Volley better on XBOX.

mack, our match was very close, 7-5 6-4, you returned well with me only winning 78% on 1st serve(its usually 85+), you moved well

No one could get me competitive in a week. I have issues with just general gameplay. For starters my serve is weak. I usually hit around 10 DF's a match. I had my little rant the other day but i just have to accept that people risk and are good where as i dont and is just not decent enough to compete. I will practice and someday just someday even if its next year i might be able to play a tour. I dont even know any of the tricks to do with shots ect and placement so im usually just running around hitting X or Slice so thats why i fail ^.^

Edit; Not to mention im on TS3 everyday, playing online getting beaten by anyone literally 6-0 6-2 or something or rather. But i guess its part of the steep learning curve i have to get over eventually
