Haha i beat Djarvik in a Tompson(Me) v. Rogers(Dj) match 7-6, and i played crap, how many people can say they beat Dj when they played crap Of course he played horribly also, but no need to say that
He broke straight away due to many errors by me and went up 3-0, but i clawed it back to 3-3 when the tables turned and he started spewing errors. It went on serve after that, he played a good game at 4-5 and got 0-30 but i upped my games and played a good game to take it to love. In the breaker I went up a mini break and held my 1st service point for 2-0, but he clawed the mini break back fpr 2-1, i got another mini break and got 4-2, in this point i moved to the net and made a really hard volley, he hit a rather straightforward pass and i got the raquet it to it and should have put it away but netted it to hand the mini break back, classic make the hard one, miss the easy one. I made one more mini break of a L2 return winner and took it like 7-4?
It was one of those matches where we both struggle to put anything on the ball, which made us risk more and we didnt reall make them, which led to LOTS of errors

Some stats(from my memory, not 100% accurate but close to accurate)
Win on 1st serve Me 78% DJ 40 %
Win on 2nd serve Me 38% DJ 75%
Aces Me 1 DJ 0
Winners Me 16 DJ 9
Unforced Errors Me 14 DJ 20
Break Points Me 1/1 DJ 1/1
Total points Me 40 DJ 37

I played two more matches today, the first against petrelli(Bucci) i won 6-1 6-2 the second against Maximo(Bashkamov) i won 7-6 6-4.

Against petrelli i played the best i have ever done as Tompson, i was hitting the ball so sweetly, it was like i had the ball on strings,
1st set i broke twice and served for the set at 5-1, but he got 0-40, but i went for my shots and went on to hold.
2nd setI went up a double break but he broke one back, but i got another break to go another double break up, but again he broke one back, but i broke again and held for the match, it was a really fun match.

Cant remember much stats, i think my winners to errors was like 14 to 2 at end of set 1 and 36 to 10 at end of match.

Against Bashkamov was a different story, it was usually a serve then winner match.
1st Set- Went on serve all set with no break points until the breaker, where he went up an early mini break, which he kept until 5-4 when i got one back, and i took it either 8-6 or 10-8.
2nd set-I got an early break to 15 and never looked back, as we both held reasonably easily with no break points for rest of set, i served it out to 30.

I won 78% of my 1st service points to his 75%, i won like 69% on second and him 74%. I hit around 5 more winners and 1 less unforced error.
I won 70 points him 65.

i played djarvik and won 6-2 6-3 i was bashmakov and he was rogers. his slow slice was making the match seem slow so i got a lil tired of it and started ripping it but i had to do so like 5 times b4 i won the point

you played very well. Excellent really. Your Bashmakov moves incredibly well, I was really surprised by that. There was no sign of slowing down at all. And your shots were really strong too. Well played.

Agree about Bashmakov, but, if I may, TD has more potential then Tomo. I have seen enough in one match. He is already more consitent and a better server then Tomo. Once he will "understand" the geometry of the court and will vary his shots more.... We might as well give him all the titles.

I felt old playing him, he takes the ball early and always has the pop on it, indicating perfect timing. I felt my fingers were twice as heavy as usuall.

Great things to come for him, for sure.

As ive said before, I felt pretty comfortable playing otlichno who used bashmakov. I think Rogers is bashmakov's weakness ;)

If I could return tomos serve I would beat him but I just dont get enough on the ball to beat him. He said he couldn't break my serve so that's one good thing I just need to pressure his serve more

Woo 1st round drawn against the dawg. Last time I felt like a poor mans federer against a Karlovic that could actually run around, got totally KO'd

Also a few nice 1st round fixtures (pocho v sound, fedfan v otlichino, cooler v apathetically)

In the qatar tourny, Jose v kpar as well. And petrelli watch out mate, I've played marlonbrando91, pretty good player

Good luck against the dawg! Watch ITST TV, he is featured on there (he used Cannon, but was moving extremely well). Massive groundstrokes. He beat me 6-1, 6-1  I think you'll be tough for him though alex, due to your game, you get everything back.

marlonbrando is a good player indeed, another good match up against Petrelli. Good luck both!

I can assist you a bit petrelli, i played marlon twice during the weekend, he uses cannon, i managed to win one and lost one (both with Lopez).

Groundstrokes and serve is good, my tactic was to rush the net no matter what lol and it worked for me

Oh btw he can hit pretty decent dropshots during the rally which may suprise you, but if follow up to the net you should be ok.
