Postby Andymachine » Tue, 09 Feb 2010 22:16

Ok played my first round with CaptainPetrufo tonight obvioulsy a very good player but the lag just was impossible for me us Europeans and South Americans obviously do not mix its very annoying esp as i had been re using my old char a lot lately and was beggining to use him well again, this has to be the most frustrating thing ever

I agree. The lag with South America is absolutely horrible. They seem to always have lag and are very used to playing in such way, to the point that they claim it is a "playable" lag, ball freezing 3-4 times before it gets to the other side is "playable" ? :? . That is sad. Lots of good players there but they all lag, badly. PS3 servers don't help the cause. I would think me being in North America, I should have a good connection with South America....but that is not the case.

lag ruins everything , i know you´re talking about ps3, but i have the same problem with some members from USA and also with most of the guys from South America (xbox 360)
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

Also the reason why i quit the match at 4 0 is because i knew it would not be resolved within the time frame of 4 days as ive had this problem before with this region and it still happening now after playing on here a year, and he was winning the match anyway but it was really pointless from my side to play and i explained this on the psn messages to him , he was really nice and is an obviously good player, i kept "tripping up" on like every second point and after the 10th time of it happening i just gave up as it was unplayable ;/

Andy you are too nice man, you give up these sort of matches way too easily. I don't think I have ever offered up a match because of lag.

yes, connection with South America is horrible, and sometimes is very dificult play, i was lucky in my match with captainpetrufo and the connection was decent (btw, great player) but i have had lag with people from europe, sometimes i play matches that it look likes that there isn´t lag, but my player always comes to the balls late, and return is almost impossible because is frozen, then is ace or i fail, is very frustrating and i would like to know if it happens to someone more.

I have that a lot. It is usually come along with shots not having power at all. It seems like nothing you can do to hit a solid shot, all of them are puff balls. :?

yes, your shots always are slow and very centered, and if your rival uses often the drop shots or risk slice.... :stupd

Andy if you want we can start the game again 0-0. We have time. Many times I've played with players from Europe and USA, and there are lag times and others not, is something that happens when you play a world tour. I hate lag because my player is slow and hevy, making it hard to return the serve. I lose many points playing with lag, but I try to adapt to circumstances. I recently played with Maximo (spain), Oshiee (usa) DRII (usa), fredz_x (england), without any problem, some obviously delay, but not imposible to play. They are a very good players, and when i lost the game, i know i lost with the best players on the tour. You are a great player to, i dont want win the macht whitou try it.
Djarvik if you have a camcorder, maybe we can record exhibition an watch if the problem is only for one or two players. Thanks.

it owuld be great if any of you could record the laggy match and uploaded to youtube so people may get an idea of what you are going through. for example in ts2, the lag made the match went choppy like for example in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSwsLQbZuL8 but in top psin 1 you could notice the lag but it didn't affect so much the gameplay, at least once you get used to it. if i knew ts3 handled the lag like in ts1 but not like ts2 i would definitly buy the console and game.

On Xbox lag is rarely a problem. I bothered me a lot on TS2, some on TS1, and less on TS3.
