Its funny that you agreed that the argument topic prior to this should be locked, however you turn around and start a thread that you know very well invites the argument to continue. Your very passive aggressive.

No, there´s no way to consider that shot cheesy.

I don't know why everybody would like to ban some shots in this game, all the shots in this game can be done in real.. Why would you like to ban a style witch you can use it in Real ?
So I voted no!

Look it's very easy.

Hitting a short slice like Roger Federer does is very hard to pull off on a regular basis in real. That's why it's amazing when he does it.

Sadly the (short) slice in TS3 and actually all slices in the TS series have been way overpowered. Same was in TS2.
That's why you see people also stand inside the baseline returning with short slices in the WT.

Some people hit them on key points in the rallies , and they hit them when someone is far behind the baseline. In that case a dropshot would just be more in place.
The short slice is just easier to pull off. So also the reason why people decide to hit a short slice instead of a dropshot. Cause the dropshot can fail and can then be countered. The short slice falls dead. And then will be a winner.
Nothing more ugly then people hitting a shot slice winner lol. You don't see that very often in real. And the short slices are just easy to pull off.

I have a bit the same when people are at the net. There are no people who actually hit a dropvolley. People will just hit a short LT-X. Way easier to pull off. And more effective in this game then a drop volley.
But again the dropvolley needs more skills and timing.

I hit dropshots against people like Coolhand who stand 600 meters behind the baseline to return . I will even hit them in a row if he stays behind and doesnt wanna move. I know that I will miss some or he'll crush the ball and will loose the point also. But if I were to hit a short slice I would win the point. But just prefer not to cause it just looks and feels buggy in TS3.

With all my respect, this poll is for what?, we´re not gonna ban the slice, this game can´t just be based on hitting super risk shots with 90 power guys.

What is this poll for then?, if you ask if something is cheesy is because you´re intention is to ban that shot, or at least you´d like to.

What is rediculous is i can hit my most powerful shot into the corner, and my oppent just double trigger slices it back into the court with ease and it has bounced twice by the time it two feet from going over the service line, and even if i have 90 speed and i'm inside the baseline. Add to that that there is a 99% success rate and it can be hit off any shot.
Does that sound fair

Cheesy means that it's rather a flaw in the game and if people abuse it it becomes cheesy.

I mean same in TS2. Dropshots were cool but once abused it became cheesy. Right? That's what the title is. If it's cheesy. Not if it will be banned.

And yeah since you don't use that shot you don't get any hate.

My attitude exactly. I also don't even use the short slice ever (except when the situation calls for it, I guess). But I really don't care what anybody else does as far as their shot selection goes. I think once you start worrying too much about this kind of thing, your game will ultimately suffer. Tennis is largely about keeping your emotions in check, and if you're sooooo worked up about a STUPID SHOT that's not even really that big of a deal, then you're not keeping your emotions in check.

Yes, more people should play like that, the tour would be a lot more fun that way. I'm so sick of the words "cheese" and "cheesy" that I quit eating tosti's.

It depends on how often it is used. If it is used to mix up depth and speed then it isnt cheesy, if it is used continuously and repetitively after serves and for teh sake of it, then yes, it is cheesy.

this whole short slice is overrated . i can´t real understand the panic about this short slice ,

the problem with the short slice is for some people ,that this shot destroy their gameplan !!! thats the whole story

come on see the truth ..TS3 is a game, at all ,full of unrealistic shoots !!!!!!!!.

to stay far behind the line , for uploading permanently a full A power baseline shot with 399 kmh permanently infield ,is same unrealistic as to use a short slice or a second serve with 230 kmh ,or double risking in a row and permanetly LT risking to the line !
LT risking by return (MOONBALLS) ! all this is unrealistic """""
there are so much unrealistic things in TS3 ,right now!!!.

all that shows that TS3 is a game , so say goodbye to the dream that TS3 is a 1:1 simulation !!
some people will not understand that !!
as a ts3 veteran i say stop this 1:1 realistic tennis crap and start to find ways to handle this stuff in a videogame . TS3 is not 1:1 tennis !!

i also think permanently slicing is a joke and shows from not much skill -(i personally loosed about realloddy in itst coz i can´t handle the slices.that was in past )
but thats a part from the game .
you can Start whining or kill your neighbur -its still forward a videogame !
