Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

First he's Bateman, then he's Batman - the guy just has no range.

I'm seriously disillusioned with the sim tour. Just had two rather unpleasant experiences in my last two tournaments where I've invested a lot in both and come out with not a single point gained from them
First tournament was going fine, I was playing my matches and the draw seemed to be progressing nicely but then I found myself waiting for ages to see who my next opponent was supposed to be. Even though the deadline had passed, my opponent still wasn't decided so I was getting pissed off. Eventually, a walkover was given days after the deadline but at this stage the tournament had gone over its completion date and I couldn't play my semi-final due to other commitments. I was annoyed but thought it was just unlucky and moved on.

However, my first actual sim tournament of the year has been worse. My opponent and I had been trying to play our match over the period of 3 days as we kept getting disconnected mid match as my opponent was suffering from connection issues. As it happens, we failed to get the match completed before the deadline and it resulted in a "no match" being declared. I stated my case to the tournament host but got no response. I just think it is unfair that both players should get punished in a situation like this.
I know these problems have nothing to so with the actual sim tour itself as I love the idea of it and have played some great matches but the organisation/decisions behind it aren't working for me as I feel I have been screwed over two tournaments in succession now.Sorry for the rambling post..just needed to vent.

me and thespecialist just had a great 3 setter. 6-4, 6-7, 3-6.

I was using bashmakov and him bishop. Some of the shots that we came up were absolutely crazy it just made you sit there and say WTF? one of the best sim matches ive played. Pure power from both players!!

thespecialist should climb up the top 5 in sim, very good with bishop

That's absolutely not true. You questioned why I advanced the draw prior to the deadline. Your subsequent PM - sent just four minutes later - apologized for the fact that you were wrong, that the deadline had in fact passed. You said nothing else.

Note: The reason you received a "No Match" was because none of your connection issues were discussed in your PM's. You were simply trying to arrange a time, and then nothing.

In the future, please use the ITST PM system - a bit more often, anyway - especially if you are experiencing connection issues. It's the only way a host would know that you are having trouble. You could also send a PM to the host.

In short, I didn't think your PM required a response. If it did - and, looking back, it may have - I apologize. Anyway, if you'd like to discuss this further, please send me a PM.

I think the problem with both Bashmakov and Cannon is they are faster than they are intended to be by ITST. They just move too well...

I'm not complaining, but wanted to voice an opinion / feedback. Lets say two players are at the same level, then the one with Bash or Cannon has the advantage.

Of course, if you are significantly better than your opponent, then it really doesn't matter if they use Bash or Cannon, as it will be possible to for you to win with a different player. Either that, or you have to be on sublime form on every point to give yourself a chance.

For the first case you mentioned, that was my fault. One of the players you were waiting on had a death in his family and I was generous with their deadline. We usually don't let personal issues affect deadlines, and I shouldn't have in that case either - it wasn't fair to you, so I apologize for that.

Don't mean to interfere Rob, but in a case like that, I think you made the right decision with your discretion.

On xbox they don't seem as fast as on ps3. I think all the players are pretty even

To be honest, I took the easy way out. It was hard to say, "Sorry your mom just died, but I can't give you any extra time to play your match." But it had nothing to do with Mack, and the match still never got played - so it wasn't really fair for Mack to have to wait.

Now I feel bad for mentioning it. Sorry, I really had no idea. My condolences go out to that person.
